CCABLAC Calls On Mr. Charles Gleghorn To Resign As Officer/Director Of TWHBEA Breed Assn!
On behalf of "The Horses" Who Cannot Speak For Themselves, CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty), calls on Mr. Charles Gleghorn to immediately resign as Senior Vice President of the Executive Committee, and Director of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breed Registry (TWHBEA). On March 16, 2017, Mr. Charles Gleghorn received a three-year Federal Disqualification under the Horse Protection Act, and fined $6,600.00 in a Default Decision entered by Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Bobbie J. McCartney on February 9, 2017, from Complaint filed on December 23, 2016. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/ies/downloads/disqualification_list.pdf The USDA Administrative Law Judge’s Default Decision pertained to two SORE “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses owned by Mr. Charles Gleghorn which were entered at the 2016 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. One horse, “Generating The Command” was to be shown at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration by his young granddaughter in Class 81 – “Amateur Youth 6 – 14 Ponies” Class on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Another horse – “The Sportster” was to be shown in Class 85 – “Owner Amateur Youth 12-14 Mares/Geldings” on Sunday, August 27, 2016. Under the TWHBEA By-Laws, Mr. Charles Gleghorn is required to step down as a Director. As of July 1, 2017, Mr. Gleghorn is still listed on the TWHBEA.Com as Sr. Vice President of the Executive Committee, and a Director of the TWH Breed Registry Association. The USDA Administrative Law Judge found: “1. On or about August 27, 2016, Mr. Gleghorn entered a horse he owned (Generating the Command) while the horse was sore, for showing in class 81 in a horse show in Shelbyville, Tennessee, in violation of the Act (15 U.S.C. § 1824(2)(B).” Class 81 was AMATEUR YOUTH 6-14 PONIES. 2. On August 27, 2016, Mr. Gleghorn entered Generating the Command while the horse was bearing prohibited substances, for showing in class 81 in a horse show in Shelbyville, Tennessee, in violation of the Act (15 U.S.C. § 1824(7).” Class 85 was “Owner Amateur Youth 12-14 Mares/Geldings”. 3. On or about August 28, 2016, Mr. Gleghorn allowed the entry of a horse he owned(The Sportster) while the horse was sore, for showing in class 85 in a horse show in Shelbyville, Tennessee, in violation of the Act (15 U.S.C. § 1824(2)(D).” The "horse show" was the "Walking Horse Super Bowl" - the annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration founded in 1939. USDA ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE - DECISION AND ORDER BY REASON OF DEFAULT - FEB. 9, 2017 https://www.oaljdecisions.dm.usda.gov/sites/default/files/2-Charles%20Gleghorn%20-%20HPA-17-0022%20-%202.9.17.pdf According to ALJ Order, while under the three year Federal Disqualification under the Horse Protection Act, Mr. Charles Gleghorn will be prohibited from showing, exhibiting or entering any horse, directly or indirectly through any agent, employee, or other device, and from judging, managing or otherwise participating in any horse show, horse exhibition or horse sale or auction. ------------------------------------------------------------------- According to the TWHBEA.Com website, Mr. Charles Gleghorn is the only person to serve FOUR TIMES as President of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association (founded in 1936). He is also a leader in the Tennessee Banking Community. In 2014, the Tennessee Bankers Association presented Mr. Gleghorn with the "Leader in Banking Excellence" Award. The plaque reads, "Lincoln County, Tennessee, native Charles Gleghorn has devoted his life to banking and the vital role it plays in his community, state, and the nation. ... (Mr.) Gleghorn is a former Lincoln County commissioner, past board chairman and 30-year member of the Fayetteville Housing Authority, Motlow College Foundation trustee, past president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, Hale Master 4-H Family Award winner, and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he has served as chair of the building committee, finance committee, and mission team member." https://www.cbinsight.com/press-release/charles-e-gleghorn-honored-by-tennessee-bankers-association In 2013, a CCABLAC Poll (with the cooperation of TWHBEA Executive Committee member Ms. Pat Stout) was conducted of approximately 7,000 TWHBEA members. Under CCABLAC direction, post cards were mailed to all TWHBEA members to vote "YES" or "NO" on the question of removing the "Pads and Chains" to end "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horse. Over 26% of the TWHBEA memberhip voted by mailing in the post cards to a CPA firm which tabulated and certified the results. A landslide 63% voted "YES" and 37% voted"NO". A color Ad documenting the results was run in the Sunday, November 10, 2013 edition of The Tennessean newspaper. That should have settled the matter, but in December 2013, led by Mr. Steve Smith (U.S.Senator Lamar Alexander Campaign Finance Chairman) and his sidekick, Mr. Walt Chism, with the aid and support of their long time cohort, Mr. Charles Glegorn, the Lickers took over at TWHBEA. Then in 2014, the "Big Lick" faction the executed a TWHBEA By-Law Change over the inept efforts of a Flatter Director entrusted with not letting it happen. The Director refused expert assistance, and the Big LIckers made the change and got rid of the Sound Directors from the "Green" States on the Map. Due to TWHBEA's support of what MTSU Horse Science Professor John Haffner says "is a business built on suffering and pain of horses ("Big Lick" Animal Cruelty), TWHBEA has lost approximately 50% of its members in the last four years. Since 2013, CCABLAC has led a "WE, The People" Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses. Tennesseans, fellow Southerners, and persons from all over America and the world have spoken out against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty. It started with the University of Mississippi Medical Center severing all ties with "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty in 2015, and then refusing to accept a $50,000.00 charitable donation to its Childrens Hospital from a "Big Lick" Horse Show. In 2016, CCABLAC called for a BOYCOTT of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration resulting in worst attendance in 46 years. CCABLAC successfully led public protests/ BOYCOTTS of "Big Lick" TWH Horse shows from the Gulf of Mexico at Panama City Beach, FL to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. Most recently, the Citizens of Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee BOYCOTTED the Columbia Spring Jubilee Horse Show (June 1-3, 2017. The show was held under Federal Court Order forbidding Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland from interfering with Citizens First Amendment rights at the horse show. Please Boycott Animal Cruelty - Columbia Spring Jubilee Horse Show - Maury County Park!!!!
Columbia (Maury County), Tennessee is a jewel located in picturesque Middle Tennessee. Unfortunately, Columbia is the largest city in Tennessee which still hosts three days of “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty at its public Maury County Park. This shocking video - "Here's What Soring Does To Horses" - opening scene was taken at the 2016 Columbia Spring Jubilee Horse Show. It shows a Two Year Old “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse ridden with approximately EIGHT POUND shoes, and with CHAINS on the sensitive skin above its front hooves. https://www.facebook.com/DodoImpact/videos/1602145449802542/ The “Here’s What ‘Soring’ Does To Horses" video been 12+ MILLION VIEWS since being released on March 7, 2017. CCABLAC protested the Columbia Spring Jubilee in 2015 and 2016, and to their credit, the local citizens BOYCOTTED the Horse Show both years. Regardless, the “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty has brought scandal and shame to Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee. CRIMINAL ACT OF VIOLENCE * 2015 - A “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse Trainer committed a violent crime by driving a large dually truck pulling a trailer loaded with horses at a lady on the side of the road who was protesting against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty. The “Big Lick”horse trainer, Mr. Jamie B. Lawrence, was convicted of Assault by a Maury County Jury. As a result, Columbia owned the stigma of lawlessness, and the Animal Cruelty associated with the “Big Lick”. ALLEGED VIOLATIONS OF FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS * 2016 – Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland told CCABLAC animal welfare advocates associated with the www.billygoboy.com website publication at the horse show being held in the public Maury County Park - “TURN OFF YOUR VIDEO RECORDERS” while they were making videos. Sheriff Rowland’s Deputies also told Americans not to video or take photos in a public park. Sheriff Rowland himself told one lady that she could go to jail and/or pay large monetary damages for making videos. * 2016 - A “Big Lick” professional Videographer/Propagandist threatened a CCABLAC animal welfare advocate (associated with www.billygoboy.com website publication) saying “I WILL COME AFTER YOU” if he saw any photos or videos she made at the horse show posted on the internet. This shocking threat was made in the presence of a Maury County Deputy Sheriff. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The “Columbia Spring Jubilee” Horse Show is put on by just eight persons who are members of the MHA (Maury Horsemans Association). Three of the eight MHA members are from one family: · One is a Maury County Deputy Sheriff, · His wife is Treasurer of the Maury Horsemans Association, · His son is the "Ring Master" of the Horse Show. Two other MHA members are also from one family. The Horse Show Manager, Mr. David Sisk, is a wealthy Maury County land owner who: · Shows “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses, · Judge TN Walking Horse Shows - Super Bowl (Celebration) twice, · Sold A “Big Lick” TWH for $125,000.00. · Has several hundred thousands dollars invested in his Tennessee Walking Horse operation. The “Big Lick” Horse Show attempts to justify its existence by making modest charitable contributions to the Maury County FFA (Future Farmers of America), and other local charities which are gained from horses which are tortured to learn the "Big Lick" gait. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Over 300,000+ persons, from all over America and the World, have now signed Change.Org Petitions by Citizens Against “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty. More than 50 MILLION persons have been reached by CCABLAC videos of “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses at public venues. Constitution by peacefully assembling outside the Horse Show and protesting the “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty. CCABLAC Animal welfare advocates will go inside the Horse Show event and responsibly exercise their First Amendment rights to Free Speech and Freedom of the Press guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution. Please SIGN and SHARE this Petition. Your Signatures and Comments will be delivered to Columbia, Maury County, elected officials! Cancel and Boycott “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Classes - North Carolina Championship Show
Please SIGN this Petition to STOP “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty to beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses. Asheville and Fletcher, North Carolina, are two progessive beautiful cities located in Western North Carolina. Both are known for gentle tolerance, enlightenment and kindness. Unfortunately, these two cities are hosting the three day “Big Lick” North Carolina Championship Walking Horse Show, Oct. 6 – 8. Sadly, the horse show will feature “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses. Tennessee Walking Horses are tortured from an early age to learn how to do the “Big Lick”. It is a pain induced gait. The horses throw their legs high while wearing Chains and 6 – 8 pound stack shoes. Caustic chemicals are applied to sensitive skin above the horses hooves, and then wrapped with plastic to “cook in” the chemicals which causes the skin to be blistered. When the chains hit the skin, the horses throw their front legs high while squatting down on their back legs – creating the cruel “Big Lick”. “Big Lick” TWH are the only horses in America which wear Chains in the show ring. According to Tennessean and Noted Equine Vet Dr. John Haffner, the "Big Lick" is a "business built on the suffering and pain of horses". Dr. Haffner is a member of the Horse Science Faculty at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University) in Murfreesboro, TN. Even worse, the horse show will be held at the McGough Arena at the Western North Carolina Agriculture Center owned by the State of North Carolina. Of 83 total horse classes 45 will feature the “Big Lick” gait. In March 2015, the North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture banned “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses from the 2015 NC State Fair. This action came after a Change.Org Petition gained almost 20,000 signatures, and a public Protest was held at the 2014 NC State Fair. At the 2015 North Carolina Championship Horse Show, USDA Vet inspectors disqualified a shocking 35% of all the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horses they inspected for allegedly being in violation of the Horse Protection Act (Animal Cruelty). On July 25, 2016, the U. S. Secretary of Agriculture took action and opened a Public Comment period to make the “Big Lick” illegal by removing the “Pads and Chains”, consequently abolishing the “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty. So far over 81% of the “Public Comments” favor the Federal Regulation to the Horse Protection Act. The Regulation can be made official after October 26, 2016. It’s time for Americans, and people all over the World, to urge the General Manager of the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center; North Carolina Chief Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture; and the Mayor of Fletcher, North Carolina to ban the “Big Lick” Tennessee Walking Horse classes, and to urge the public to Boycott “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty. After you SIGN, please SHARE the petition with your friends and family via email, Facebook, and Twitter! Your PETITION Signatures and Comments will be delivered to the proper officials.
