Pledge not to let convicted domestic abusers play for your team.
Did you know that in the NFL, a player has to be criminally convicted of domestic violence twice before they finally get kicked out? I was sickened when I found this out. Until they change this rule, individual teams like [TEAM] should pledge not to let convicted domestic abusers play for them. Tell [TEAM] to pledge that if a court convicts someone of domestic violence, that person won't get to keep being a football hero every Sunday. As a fan of [TEAM], I think their players should be positive role models. Many people, especially our kids, look up to NFL players -- some even consider them heroes. But to me, a real hero is a hero on and off the field. The NFL’s current policy sends a message that domestic abusers still get to be heroes. This is wrong, and [TEAM] can do something to fix it by setting their own, stronger standard. Sign my petition. Tell [TEAM] to pledge not to let people convicted of domestic violence play for them.
