EU's Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen Must Resign or be Removed
Israel has destroyed 74 million euros worth of EU-funded projects in the occupied Palestinian territories, including over 300 buildings this year alone. During his tenure since 2013 as the EU ambassador to Israel Denmark's Lars Faaborg-Andersen has shown himself unwilling to represent European Union's official policies, goals and values and unwilling to act to protect infrastructure build through EU funding in Occupied Palestinian Territories from deliberate destruction by Israel. Instead Faaborg-Andersen has been increasingly allying himself with extremist Israeli politicians and activists, appearing with them in public events, refusing to condemn their calls for violence, end to the two state solution and suppression of free speech both in Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Lars Faaborg-Andersen echoes these extremist politicians and activists in his public announcements and speeches - this when acting in his official role as the EU ambassador! He tries to harm non-violent, peaceful activities among EU citizens, Israeli and Palestinians alike while giving cover to Israel's destruction of EU funded projects and increasing illegal settlement building activity. Faaborg-Andersen has also been unwilling to oppose and act against the obstruction of movement of EU politicians like MEPs and officials in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories, thus helping Israel to hide from EU representatives direct look at the situation on the ground. Because of this it's clear that Lars Faaborg-Andersen uses his position as EU's ambassador to Israel to help and serve Israel's current government and Israeli factions hostile to peace - instead of acting as the representative of European Union and its citizens. He has, to use a figurative description, "gone native" and needs to resign or to be removed if he refuses. This is what we demand from European External Action Service and it's High Representative Federica Mogherini.
