Sack Brexit Sec. David Davis for harassment of and sexist comments about Diane Abbott
Brexit minister David Davis must be sacked immediately for harassment and sexism. Earlier this week he approached shadow health sec. Diane Abbott in public, attempted to kiss and embrace her against her will and made a number of disgusting sexist comments. The disrespect shown by Davis has been exacerbated by certain journalists in the national press who consider Diane 'fair game' because of her race, sex and socialist views. They have written in a facetious, spiteful way using the most unflattering photos available, which has encouraged a social media pile on. The (mostly male) journalists have then questioned how women are 'supposed' to respond to male assault or abuse. To which the correct answer is: 'any way they fucking want'. As a prominent black, woman Diane is already hit by tsunamis of harassment, sexism and abuse. For this to come, however, from an actual MINISTER OF HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT rather than a right-wing journalist or Twitter egg is beyond the pale. Anyone else in any other workplace would lose their job on the spot - why should Davis, as an elected representative (living off taxpayers' money) get away with it? To allow this man to continue in public office is to condone the sickening and humiliating treatment that ordinary women endure from sexist men every day. Diane Abbott was this country's first black, female MP - and we are proud to stand with her and all people who suffer the horrors of sexism, racism, prejudice, cruelty or assault. If male gov't ministers are allowed to humiliate and demean women MPs, what hope for the rest of us? We, the undersigned, demand Davis be sacked by the government from his position and expelled from the Conservative party immediately.
