Tell Democrats: Don't Force Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Resign-it's not right!
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been the chair of the Democratic National Committee for the last five years. Prior to that, she was a member of the U.S House of Representatives for 8 years and also served in the Florida Senate and Florida House. Wasserman Schultz has always been loyal to the Democratic Party. During the 2006 elections, she raised over seventeen million dollars in campaign contributions for her Democratic colleagues (third most after Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel), she was chosen as Chief Deputy Whip and appointed to the Appropriations Committee, a plum assignment for a sophomore congresswoman. What is happening now to DWS is simply unfair. The Sanders campaign has indicated that DWS has actively attempted to undermine his campaign when she denied his campaign access to the Democratic Party's 50 state voter file. Bernie Sanders just became a Democrat two years ago. He has had no loyalties or affiliations with the party, so why should he be entitled to access to the voter registry? Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been a Democrat for the last 25 years and has always done what is best for the party. She should not be forced to resign as Chair of the DNC for refusing to cater to a campaign that has no loyalties to the Democratic Party. It's time we put principle before politics.
