Petition to Appu Singh, Sony Entertainment Television Asia, N.P. Singh, B. P. Singh

Make Indian TV show CID available internationally with subtitles

CID is a fictional television series from India that follows the investigations of the Crime Investigation Department. It was created by Brijendra Pal Singh (B. P. Singh) for Sony Entertainment Television India and Sony Entertainment Television Asia. It first aired in 1997 with its pilot episode and its first season followed in 1998. It is the longest running television series in India and still runs to this day, entering its nineteenth year on air in 2016. It currently consists of eight seasons and is presented in Hindi. I believe that releasing this iconic, long-runnning television series to an international audience with English and other subtitles and subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing will not only afford the wider Indian entertainment industry greater exposure on an international level, but, more importantly, it will also serve to break down cultural barriers as well as providing joy and entertainment to many fans, old and new, who may live in India or abroad and who may or may not be fluent in Hindi. I believe there is indeed a demand for this TV show and others like it on an international level and this petition aims to prove this. This petition asks that Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited (formerly SET India Pvt. Ltd and Multi Screen India Pvt. Ltd), Sony Entertainment Television Asia and the relevant decision makers release CID to an international audience available on DVD with English and/or other language subtitles as well as subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. How many times have people come together because of something they loved or enjoyed, something like a TV show or a book? How many times have people spoken of the understanding, empathy and feeling of unity they gained from watching a film or an episode of that same TV show and discussing it with others? Together, we can make the world a better place, and it starts with people like you and I, ordinary people who can come together to do something extraordinary. So let's let the entertainment industry know that we stand united, no matter where we live or what language we call our own, and that we embrace entertainment from around the world - one TV show at a time!
