STOP PRO SUICIDE
As surprising as it may seem, there are tons of pro-suicide websites, chat rooms, blogs, forums, etc. Pro-suicide entails information on how to kill yourself, why you should kill yourself, different ways to inflict pain upon yourself, the list goes on. In 2002, a boy named Tim was found after he committed suicide. The police had taken his computer for evidence. What they found shocked and angered the boys family. It was found that the night before his death, all Tim did was search the word "suicide" and he was harshly greeted with more than many websites encouraging him to take his life. His father stated that he does believe Tim's depression had a large role in his suicide, but he also believes that Tim might have had more thought's to seek out friends or family members if he hadn't found those websites. While just looking up "pro suicide" I found an overly high amount of terrible results. Some questions along the lines of "why is suicide good?" On one website their was pages and pages of different ways to commit suicide and why they are good options. We could be saving lives with an easy fix. If you were troubled with thoughts of no longer feeling like you need to live, what would help you feel more needed and more open to seek help.. finding reasons and ways to end it all or finding reasons and ways to go different routes to change your mind? Suicide is never an answer. It should never be put into a child's mind, or anyone for that matter, that killing yourself is the best way to solve things. There is always a better way and I'm trying to make sure everyone out there does not have the opportunity to be pushed into taking their own life.

Dismantle Facebook Live
Naika Venant age 14 of Florida, Katelyn Nicole Davis 14 of Georgia, and Frederick Jay Bowdy of CA, different ages, different cities but all with one thing in common, all three died by suicide and all did it on Facebook Live. As tragic as suicide already is, seeing it streaming live on social media is so wrong on so many levels. For Katelyn Nicole Davis, hers was especially tragic because was not only 12 years old, it took TWO weeks, before Facebook took it down and that is irresponsible. Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg need to be held ACCOUNTABLE and Facebook Live needs to be DISMANTLED ASAP! After all, if you aren't part of the solution, when it comes to bringing down the soaring rate of suicide, you are part of the problem and Facebook LIVE at this moment is part of the growing epidemic of suicide in this country! Now the question is, "What if anything is Facebook going to do about this horrifying growing trend of Suicides LIVE on their website? In the US and Worldwide, suicide is called, "The Silent Epidemic" because it continues to soar. Everyone should care about suicide because it affects everyone and no one is immune. 90% of people that take their own life have a mental condition at the time of their death. They aren't weak or selfish, most are just ashamed to get the help they need because of the negative stigma surrounding mental health. Stigma is the #1 reason people with a mental condition suffer in silence. No one wants to be labeled in a negative way, with such words like "Crazy, Insane, Nuts, Weird, or Violent." The media in many instances portrays us in the same negative light, especially when there's a mass shooting not ever sharing the real stat that says, "People with a mental condition are more prone to violence committed against them than the other way around." Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US with more people dying by suicide than car deaths and homicides. 117 Americans DAILY, 819, WEEKLY, 3,270, MONTHLY, NOT including the 22 veterans DAILY. 2nd leading cause of death for young people ages 10-24, with ages 15-24, dying every 95 minutes, 2nd leading cause of death on college campuses, with 1100, college students dying every year, 3rd leading cause of death for young black males ages 15-24, with more teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED. Each day in our nation, there are an average of over 5,240 attempts by young people grades 7-12. Four out of Five teens who attempt suicide have given clear warning signs. The CDC came out in 2016, noting that suicide is at a 30 year high rising across the board with the biggest jump being young girls ages 10-14, up 200%, tripling since 1995. That is the ages of the two young ladies that died on Facebook Live in less than a month, with others following suit. Worldwide, every 40 SECONDS someone dies by suicide, with more people dying by suicide than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, over 1 MILLION people a YEAR! Where is the outcry and call to ACTION with that many people dying?! Facebook Live might had started off as a wonderful idea for people to see what their friends are doing at that moment but has quickly turned into showing live events that are tragic, violent, and has brought out the absolute worst in our fellow man. Do what is right not what is popular Mark Zuckerberg?
