Stop Bellator MMA Events In Israel Until It Respects International Law!

Stop Bellator Mixed Martial Arts events in Israel until they comply with international law! Bellator Mixed Martial Arts is an organisation which is considered only second to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the world of professional MMA. They are looking to expand around the world to grow as a company and promote MMA as a sport around the world. Bellator has visited Israel twice and intends to keep this partnership as the President of Bellator, Scott Coker, has indicated. It should be known that MMA is a sport which is a combination of ancient and new martial arts, each of which uphold the code of honor and respect as their motto. We feel that Bellator MMA with their past events with Israel and with any planned events, disrespects that very same code of honor and respect. This is because on one hand, Bellator holds events in Israel and promotes sport in the area for the enjoyment of Israeli citizens and on the other hand, Palestinians are forcibly removed from their own homes in to exile from the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Netanyahu has stated that these West Bank and East Jerusalem settlements are permanent and not only does this guarantee that more settlements will be equally justified but it violates international law and resolutions such as the United Nations Security Council resolutions 446 and 465. Both unequivocally state that these are occupied territories. To add insult to injury, fighters that play major parts in these shows include fighters like Noad Lahat, a former IDF (Israeli Defense Force) member who enrolled with them during the July 2014 war on Gaza on which the Human Rights Watch accused Israel of war crimes. We see the Bellator promotion of MMA in this state a pass and encouragement towards Israel to continue on its path of illegal criminal activities as the promotion of such sports is a huge obstacle to Palestinians ever getting their rights which are being taken away from them on a daily basis. We demand that Bellator stops its events in Israel until Israel begins to respect the international law and the rights of the Palestinians. Do not delay, sign and share this petition now.

Petition to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council

Save Basingstoke Sports Centre

In order to meet the Council’s requirements, petitions may only be signed by people who live, work or study in the borough area, including those under 18 years of age. Please do not sign more than once (this includes if you have already signed a paper petition). We're aiming for 10,000 signatures.  Petition Summary The Council's proposal for a large leisure hotel at Basing View is the biggest threat in our 47-year history putting at risk the very existence of Basingstoke Sports Centre and the registered charity itself. Confidential Council papers (obtained through a Freedom of Information request) recognise this additional large scale leisure provision is unnecessary and will displace our own customers. This will have a devastating impact. The leisure hotel will only be viable because the Council is to spend £3,000,000 to enable the development and give Village Hotels a 250 year lease on a peppercorn rent. There will be a staggering loss of opportunity for regular physical activity for all ages, including the hundreds on our Cardiac and Cancer Rehabilitation programmes. Almost 1 million visits to the town centre would disappear every year, and more than 180 jobs could be lost. Whilst it may be two to three years before the hotel will open, we need your support now to ensure the community facilities of Basingstoke Sports Centre are available for generations to come. Please sign the petition or read on for more detailPlease note, your address will not be published on this petition, however we do require it to verify your identity. In October 2016 the Cabinet of Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council agreed a proposal to enable the development of a large leisure hotel at Basing View. The large leisure hotel, Village Hotels, would need to generate a third of its turnover from health and fitness. The Council already recognises that the town centre is well provided for in terms of health and fitness and this is referenced in two of their published documents – Leisure Recreation Needs Assessment (2015) and Built Sports Facility Strategy (2016). Through Freedom of Information requests, we have obtained a copy of a confidential Council report considered at Cabinet which states “the recent research carried out, strongly indicates that any new gym, or a significant expansion to an existing gym, would simply displace gym users from existing provision and undermine the viability of existing providers”. Furthermore, this same Council report also states “Certainly, significant displacement from Basingstoke Sports Centre could jeopardise not only the community health programmes, it may impact the viability of the Sports Trust Charity that operate the Basingstoke Sports Centre”. We understand that Village Hotels only regard Basingstoke as a marginally viable location and so the Council have agreed to spend £3million of Council money to help enable the development as well as giving Village Hotels a 250-year lease on a peppercorn rent, foregoing multiple millions of pounds of income to the Council in ground rent over the term of the lease. We have commissioned independent research which shows that up to 23% of our health and fitness membership could be displaced and that the impact on the charity’s income could be as high as £800,000 per year. This would lead to the winding up of the Charity; the closure of Basingstoke Sports Centre, and the loss of all that it adds to the town in terms of regular physical activity, health and wellbeing and children’s activities, and an economic impact on the town through loss of jobs and decrease in town centre visits. Basingstoke Sports Trust is a registered charity. Charity No. 301731. We, the undersigned, ask the Council to reverse their decision and stop this development from going ahead and to seek only those alternative proposals which do not include such a large leisure offering in order to protect the future of Basingstoke Sports Centre.

Petition to Spelthorne council

A new skatepark in staines

The local skatepark in staines is in need of a huge upgrade!! It is a very poorly made skatepark with metal ramps that fill up with water easily and would almost never dry up. The metal is damaged dented and disgustingly dirty.i believe lammas skatepark has seen its days as the metal ramps are rusted, damaged, and bent. So a fresh new concrete skatepark would be a huge change and would be really beneficial. Before lymington skatepark was a big concrete skatepark it was a metal skatepark with tarmac ground, dented metal ramps, rust holes and bent up ramps, so a change like lymington has had would be good for lammas to. If we get the council to donate money along with other services, communitys and places in staines this would really help this project come true. This skatepark is small and doesn’t have good big ramps such a boxes and funboxes. The spine is always filled with water and the banks are always wet as the trees are covering it. I feel as if a new concrete skatepark is built in staines it will get more kids of the streets and attract more people to action sports and everyone will have a great time. The skatepark should have good ramps be made of concrete have good drainage systems and should be very large as the lands in staines are very big.Kids and adults alike will learn new skills on their rollerblades scooter and skateboard. It is a shame that some people travel far and spend money in other places for a good skatepark. Please make this great new change happen for staines and build an amazing new big concrete skatepark. If we could have big good concrete skatepark like lymington it will be amazing and help the community and local skaters bmxers and scooter riders. It would be amazing if gravity skateparks could build a good concrete skatepark in staines with funbox, box, spine, bank etc it will be the best thing. I hope you sign this petition and help improve recreational sports and activities become popular and reach everyone of all age groups in staines. I am very thankful for every signiture for this petition.

Petition to UFC , UFC Press, WME IMG

McGregor Vs Ferguson/Strip McGregor Or We Boycott McGregor's Cards !

Conor McGregor yet again seeks to try and use "negotiations" and "leverage" to try and get the most rewarding fight for himself as possible while Tony Ferguson is most definitely the deserving recipient of a UFC Lightweight title shot.  Tony Ferguson is a fighter who has earned his position in the division, fighting through all comers and eventually securing the Interim Lightweight Championship. This is while Conor McGregor is healthy and able to fight  Let it be known that prior to winning this belt, McGregor had never defended his Featherweight World Title either, eventually leading to the UFC stripping him of the title. This takes away legitimacy from the reign of the next champion as that next champion would have not have deservedly beaten McGregor himself for the belt and this would not be because of Conor McGregor being unavailable due to injury or personal crisis but because he simply did not want to. We are the hardcore MMA fans who are the fans of MMA first before we are the fans of the UFC. While the two are closely linked, they are in no ways synonymous. We are fed up of this mockery which has plagued our sport which we hold dear and refuse to sit down and have this continue. We demand as fans that Tony Ferguson gets the title fight against Conor McGregor or we demand that he be stripped immediately. If this does not happen, then we pledge to boycott purchasing any pay-per-view featuring McGregor until this happens. We are not against the success of a person who is larger than life like Conor McGregor and would love to see him succeed and believe that this can all be accomplished without the Lightweight belt being held ransom. This is for those MMA fans who enjoyed watching a fighter earn their way to the top. For those MMA fans who enjoyed watching Royce Gracie earn his way to win tournaments in the early UFC days. This is for those fans who enjoyed watching title-contenders fight the king of their division. Those who enjoy watching fighters make a legacy which they leave to the new-comers and those fans who enjoyed watching a contender lose or win against the respective champion having given all of their effort, blood, sweat and tears. Regardless of the result of this petition, it is time WE, who are the power and driving factor of this sport allow our own voices to be heard.
