Petition to Anthony Malkin

ESRT: Stop Profiteering Off 9/11 - Be Fair to NYC's WBAI Pacifica Radio

Dear Mr. Malkin, My son, police officer John W. Perry, was killed on 9/11/2001 while attempting to save a woman’s life when the South Tower collapsed on him and countless others that horrific day.  The pain and impact of 9/11 were felt by local businesses and people throughout the New York City area.  One of those impacts was that your property, the Empire State Building, became one of the few places for local TV and Radio to transmit from since all antennas on the Twin Towers were destroyed.   One of those stations, Pacifica's WBAI, has been part of the fabric of our great city for decades and now is on the verge of shutting down because you continue to price gouge and take advantage of the station by repeatedly jacking up the monthly lease payments.  You took advantage of this when WBAI's antenna tower lease was renewed in 2005 by making the license fees under the lease increase by more than four times the rate of inflation. That is unconscionable. WBAI management went to Empire State Realty Trust three years ago, asking that you accept the market rate for antenna tower leases because WBAI could not afford the large annual increase in payments in the lease, but never got an answer.  Please negotiate in good faith with WBAI and stop price gouging this small non-profit - be fair and reasonable.  Let them out of their lease, release them from the obligation to keep paying increasingly exorbitant fees, and don't force them to pay additional late fees and legal fees because they have not been able to keep up with the unfair lease payments. This station has always been one of the feelings of pride of our city and beyond - providing a platform for our local elected officials and NYC’s best and brightest.  For decades, WBAI has fearlessly served the public with independent news, music, and public affairs that other stations won't let you hear.  My son did not risk his life for you and Empire State Realty Trust to profit off of it.  It is not the New York Way. Sincerely, Patricia J. Perry, Seaford, New York

Petition to President Obama, Donald Trump

Investigate 9/11 (September 11th, 2001)

The federal government spent more money on the Monica Lewinsky scandal than it did 9/11. Something doesn't add up. Yes, the government got a commission full of Washington insiders to investigate the largest terrorist attack on American soil (details below). They were also given a deadline and a strict budget. I am demanding all of the footage from the Pentagon that day be released. We need to demand a legitimate investigation on these attacks. Below are a list of reasons you should sign this petition. 1.) The White House initially appointed Henry Kissinger the head of the the 9/11 commission who has had business relations with the bin Laden family. He later resigned due to criticism from 9/11 victim family members. 2.) 9/11 Commission co-chair member Lee Hamilton is quoted saying " “I don’t believe for a minute we got everything right.” "... that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, and that the 9/11 debate should continue..." Now that you can see that the official investigation for the largest terrorist attack on American soil was "set up to fail", let's continue on to other things. 3.) There was a third building that collapsed in New York on September 11th. World Trade Center 7. If it were in San Diego, it would be the tallest building in the city. It was also the first steel framed building ever to collapse at free fall speeds due to a fire. A plane did not hit World Trade Center 7. 4.) The 9/11 Commission did not mention the collapse of World Trade Center 7 one time. No wonder you've never heard of it. . 5.) It took the FBI five years to release a few inconclusive frames from one security camera of American Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon. One of the more secure buildings in the United States. 6.) There is a group of over 2,700 architects and engineers for 9/11 truth. Meaning they do not believe the official story given by the 9/11 Commission.  7.) Donald Trump is quoted saying on a campaign stop in Bluffton, South Carolina "... It wasn't the Iraqis who knocked down the World Trade Centers. You will find out who knocked down the World Trade Centers." Lets back President-elect Trump, and expose the ones truly responsible. Video above. Skip to 5:08 to see him speak.  This list isn't even starting to scratch the surface of the events on that day. There is a plethora of evidence online. All you have to do is look for yourselves.  I hope that this is enough for you to sign and share this petition. Have a blessed day.

The Firefighter Everyone Forgot About

The best way to explain this petition is with an article written by Xavier Jackson and published on the Uniform Stories website. Here is that article: "On September 11th, 2001, nineteen terrorists caused the deaths of 2,977 people. Of those, many of them were firefighters who spent their last moments attempting to save the lives of everyone still trapped in the burning Twin Towers. According to official statistics and the New York Fire Department, 343 of them died on that day. What those statistics don't show is that there was a 344th. While the New York Fire Department served as the main fire protection unit for New York City, many people don't know about a second one: the New York Fire Patrol. With only three stations and around 100 firefighters, the NYFP was a much smaller scale operation with a more focused purpose: The NYFP protected property. Where the FDNY would break windows to vent fires and spray areas with water, the NYFP would cover valuable items with tarps and pump excess water out of the buildings. The FDNY and NYFP worked together to save people's lives and livelihoods from fires, and aside from their signature red helmets, there was little visual difference between the two organizations. So just like every other station in New York on September 11th, the NYFP responded. Among them was 6-year fire patrolman Keith Roma. Roma loved his job, and despite repeated offers to join other fire departments, he refused to leave the NYFP. While en route, he called his father Arnold Roma. After explaining the situation, the elder Roma (himself a former patrolman) decided to grab his fire gear and head over to the towers to assist. Keith's last words to his father were, “I'll see you there.” Sadly, in the chaos he never got the chance. Upon arriving, Roma and his colleagues immediately went to work helping to evacuate the buildings. A photographer even caught a photo of Roma leading a group of evacuees down a flight of stairs with another fire patrolman. By his own colleague's count, Roma personally saved the lives of over 200 people, making no less than four trips up Tower 1 in the process. At one point, he helped a barefoot woman by carrying her over the broken glass strewn lobby of the towers, ensuring she would survive the day. He was last seen alive at the FDNY command post of Tower 1. His body wouldn't be found until Christmas Eve, surrounded by 9 more evacuees he was attempting to escort to safety in his last moments. He was the only member of the New York Fire Patrol that day to die. To some, this is simply because he was not a member of the New York Fire Department, but to others the issue is not that clear cut. For instance, when his body was found, a code 4-5 “declaration of death” went out to the entire FDNY and Roma was given a full FDNY funeral mass. Yet the FDNY still refuses to count him among their number, despite promises to do so. This has led to incidents such as what happened in a memorial stair climb set for later this year to honor all firefighters and police officers who died. The event organizers included just 343 firefighters. Only after haggling did they finally include a 344th spot for Roma. Despite all his family's insistence, the official list today still only has 343 names on it. Even Wikipedia only lists 343. And before you say that anyone can edit it, that has already been tried but the entry was deleted because, according to Wikipedia, "Fire Patrol is not an emergency service function." We're asking those who agree with our position, that Keith Roma should officially be counted among the firefighters who died on September 11, 2001, to please sign this petition. Thank you.
