I have mentioned about non payment of gratuity dues to my employer on my last working day with a formal letter duly signed by the school office authority since there was no Principal/Headmaster in service in the school at that time. I have filled an RTI application on 18 apr 2019 followed by RTI first appeal 19 june 2019 to submit my salary slips for 13 years for me to calculate the gratuity and provident fund contribution of the employer as it is a very low contribution from the employer which is reflected on my PF passbook. Akshayah Educational Trust also run a global school(Cambridge curriculum) [UNRECOGNIZED SCHOOL] which is functioning in the same building of Akshayah Matriculation school. List of unrecognized school in chennai released by chennai collector on 17 june 2019  https://chennai.nic.in/details-of-unrecognized-schools/ has Akshayah Global School in the list with serial no 28. The school is still functioning without any approval from the state government till now. I would like to bring it to your kind notice about Akshayah Global School which functions in the same building of Akshayah Matriculation with address No 7, LIC Colony, Tansi Nagar, Velachery, Chennai - 42. I would like to inform you pointwise about Akshayah Global School 1. I have got to know that none of the teaching faculty have any degree in the field of Education. For example in any Chennai school teaching faculty should have a B.Ed degree which is mandatory.(Bachelor of Education). 2. They charge exuberant amount as fee but parents, students are treated badly if there is a delay in the payment due to any genuine reason. 3.Food provided by the management is pathetic, substandard. 4.They had promised to start angling, fishing, archery, golf for students in the last academic year still its in the message not in reality. 5.They terminate teachers at their own whimsfancy. Assistant teacher is later made to handle the subject who has poor communication skills. 6. They do not have Principal/Headmistress in matriculation school but they make Principal of global school to handle matriculation school work. 7. RTE Right to Education 25 percent free seats for educating the poor children is denied by the management in both matriculation, global school as well. 8. The school office have deducted ESIC amount from employees but they have not deposited the money in ESIC office. No ESIC card given to the employees for their medical help in ESIC hospitals.  Kindly take appropriate action against such unrecognized school. I seek your help in getting my gratuity amount from my employer at the earliest without any further delay. Petition to Department of Education, Deputy Director Of Public Instruction , HRD Ministry, DDPI

Concerning Mandate on Kannada in Grade X

We respect the state of karnataka, for opening its doors to many students and professionals from, across the country and globe.  I also appreciate the department of education for introducing kannada as a language, into the regular school curriculum.  However, this is related to the recent ruling from DDPI on making Kannada a mandatory subject for students of all schools (CBSE; ICSE etc.) from the 2018-19 academic year till 10th grade. There are a lot of professionals and others who have moved from other states to Karnataka for work or education. While the department is absolutely right in promoting Kannada, this petition is to make an appeal to focus on Kannada as a functional language. Per current ruling, Kannada is to be taught at par with 2nd  language and the emphasis and intensity would continue till Grade X. In an already competitive scenario, this is putting additional pressure on the children. For many of us Kannada is an unknown language and I am happy that my children would learn to speak a language that we cannot. But beyond that it is impossible for us to help our children academically.  The purpose of this petition is to make an appeal to the concerned authorities to alleviate the pressure on children by changing the focus on kannada to be a functional /spoken language without imposing the academic demands in Grade X. Parents and authorities are well aware of the pressure on the children and we all need to do our utmost to alleviate this pressure.  We are also aware of children going into depression, due to high competition and pear pressure. This will only add to the challenges in current scenario.  We request :  Either not have to an academic pressure linked to it. The marks of the subject , should not be considered , to reduce the pressure.  Or   Keep it till grade 9 and not bring it in grade X.  We look forward to an amicable solution, where the learning of the language becomes the focus for the children , rather an academic enforcement and the associated pressure.

Petition to Sudha Murthy, Infosys Foundation

Infosys Foundation, create STEM scholarship for girls in rural schools for 10+2

“We can give our children only two things in life which are essential. Strong roots and powerful wings. Then, they may fly anywhere and live independently. Of all the luxuries in life, the greatest luxury is getting the freedom of the right kind.” ― Sudha Murthy Yashaswini, Afreen and Pooja, final year computer science students, formed a team to participate in an AI Codeathon. We had designed the Codeathon for girls studying engineering in Tier2 and Tier3 cities but not in Tier1 colleges. The idea was to create more opportunities for students beyond the Tier1 corridors.  In my capacity as a mentor, I discussed roles and responsibilities over a call, but they sounded confused.  I realised that they had never heard women talk to them about coding. Then, Yashaswini said softly, "Ma'am, but I don't know how to code!"  I was stunned, the premise of an AI Codeathon is Coding and final year students need to be aware of coding to get a job!. I have been mentoring school girls and young college kids for programs like Technovation, LearnITGirl and Google Summer of Code. Every single time, children from urban schools and colleges have amazed me with their understanding of complex systems.  But for the first time, I realized that there is a lack of representation of women in technology in a larger part of India and lack of programs supporting these girls in rural India.  Which is why I have started this petition to Infosys Foundation to create a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) scholarship program for girls studying in rural schools for them to pursue higher studies (10+2).  Infosys Foundation has been running programs for education and healthcare for rural areas. As a part of the education programs, so far the foundation has taken many schools into its arms. But we still don't see more representation of girls from these schools in STEM.  STEM education is the need of the hour. 70% for the future workforce is predicted to have automation or other technology-related jobs. Is it not our duty to then allow the girls to skill themselves?  In an interview, Sudha Murthy spoke about her struggles in an engineering college. About the permissions from family, about being the first girl in the universe of engineering in B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli and how by entering the gates she broke barriers.  It's time we have more women representation in science from diverse areas and for women leaders to carve a way for them. And this needs to begin right from the school level. Please sign my petition so together we can reach out to the inspirational woman, Sudha Murthy, and ask her to create this scholarship.  https://qz.com/india/1038178/sudha-murthy-wife-of-infosys-founder-nr-narayana-murthy-recalls-being-only-girl-in-her-engineering-college/ https://www.infosys.com/infosys-foundation/ Image Credit: https://www.downtoearth.org.in/blog/health/23-girls-drop-out-of-school-on-reaching-puberty-59496 #DiversityInSTEM
