Remove "In God We Trust" from Public Schools

According to an article by, "Six primarily Southern states — Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Arizona — have approved legislation since last year explicitly requiring or allowing public schools to display the words 'In God We Trust'... States such as [Kentucky,] South Carolina, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma have proposed similar bills" ( This is a blatant contradiction to the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment, which states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Especially in public schools, in which students are 1) impressionable; and 2) do not possess the appropriate knowledge or life experience to decide on religious beliefs for themselves, this bold assertion of religious endorsement should absolutely not be displayed in public schools across the country -- not to mention, it is equally as inappropriate to force religious association upon school staff members and families. It is time for the United States government to hold true to its secular foundation, which accommodates to individuals who hold a vast spectrum of religious beliefs and others who hold no religious beliefs at all. Federal legislation barring the states from using such glaring methods of discrimination and intimidation in the name of religion must be passed as long as we want to continue to pride ourselves on being "the Home of the Free." Freedom of religion implies freedom from religion.

Justice for Asifa Bano

8 year old girl (Asifa) got gang-raped and brutally murdered in Jammu, India by 6 six people including 2 police man. But all those crimnals are supported by BJP government. Please help to get justice!!! "***Detail from a newspaper: She was an 8-year-old girl who, while grazing her horses in a meadow in northern India in January, followed a man into the forest. Days later, Asifa Bano’s small, lifeless body was recovered there. Police say that Asifa was given sedatives and, for three days, raped several times by different men. Asifa's strangled body was eventually found Jan. 17. Police say she would have been killed sooner had one man not insisted on waiting so that he could rape her a final time. To ensure she was dead, Asifa’s killers hit her twice on the head with a stone, according to charging documents filed by police in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The eight men accused in connection to the rape and murder are Hindu. Asifa was a Muslim nomad, part of the Bakarwal tribe. Asifa’s father, Mohammad Yusuf Pujwala, told the New York Times that he believes his daughter was killed by the Hindu men for the sole purpose of driving her people away. To add to the volatility of Asifa’s case, police say she was killed in a Hindu temple, and that the temple’s custodian plotted her death as a way to torment the Bakarwals.***" Crime: Premeditated rape and murder of an 8 year old child, from the Kashmir region (child belongs to a Pahari nomadic Muslim tribe) Abducted, raped and murdered in a Hindu temple by the temple priest and others in India. Reason: To terrorise the tribe and to grab land. Jammu Bar Council of India (Jammu region) and other savarna Hindus including Hindu women came out in support of the rapists, even preventing to file a charge sheet. Demanding justice for Asifa is not about any religion or about a political party. It is about a kid getting raped and government (in this case BJP party) who is not providing any support to the victim instead covering up criminals. We need justice for her.
