Il campeggio Valtramontina è il più grande campeggio del Friuli montano, un bosco naturale di 10 ettari lungo il fiume Meduna, a due passi dal Parco delle Dolomiti Friulane. Da due anni è chiuso, iscritto definitivamente in un’area classificata ad elevata pericolosità idraulica.
Il Campeggio Val Tramontina sorge in un luogo mai soggetto a inondazioni durante eventi climatici estremi, a differenza di molti altri campeggi a valle o sui litorali. È protetto da imponenti opere di argine del fiume, a sua volta irregimentato a monte da una diga. Una situazione surreale, che si trascina da 15 anni fra burocrazia e disattenzioni, con scarse speranze di recupero dopo l'ultima recente manifestazione di disinteresse da parte della Regione -quanto meno fino alla prossima cavalcata elettorale.
Questa è l'incredibile storia di un bene comune, con 20.000 presenze annuali, meta ideale per amanti della natura, sportivi, famiglie, animali, ed oggi destinato all'abbandono. Una struttura con cucine, servizi, immersa in un ambiente che si sta preservando intatto e selvatico, rifugio sicuro per specie floristiche e fauna stanziale alpina. Circondato da incantevoli pozze cristalline, cascate spettacolari, affascinanti borgate sommerse, luogo di partenza per trekking -a piedi, in bici o cavallo-, parapendio, arrampicata, torrentismo e pesca. In un territorio con numerosi eventi legati alle arti ed eccellenze gastronomiche riscoperte con tenacia dai produttori locali.
La chiusura di questa piccola eccellenza è un colpo durissimo per l’economia di queste vallate, da sempre soggette alle inefficaci politiche per la montagna di chi siede altrove con forti interessi personali, partitici e lobbistici. Si parla tanto di montagna, senza mai conoscere i sogni, le esigenze e le forze di chi la abita. Chi vive ogni giorno in queste valli, anche grazie allo stimolo di nuovi, giovani residenti e al supporto di esperti esterni, è ora più volitivo che mai. Ci siamo già battuti per le modifiche alle concessioni sui bacini idroelettrici, riportando una prima vittoria. Anche questa battaglia ci vedrà uniti. Contiamo sull'appoggio di tutti voi che amate questi luoghi e sostenete il diritto della montagna a proteggere e sostenere il proprio ambiente e le proprie comunità.
Chiediamo che la voce degli abitanti, degli amanti di queste valli, e gli sforzi delle Amministrazioni locali vengano ascoltati: vogliamo l'immediata riapertura del Campeggio Val Tramontina e ulteriori investimenti per la pulizia del greto del fiume Meduna.

The Valtramontina Camping is the largest campsite in the mountains of Friuli, Italy. A 10-hectare natural forest along the Meduna river, a stone's throw from the Friulian Dolomites Park. It has been closed for two years, permanently classified as a high hydraulic hazard area.
Located in a place that is never subject to floodings during extreme climatic events, differently from many other campings downriver or on the coast. It is protected by river embankments, and the river is regulated upstream by a dam. A surreal situation, which has dragged on for 15 years between bureaucracy and carelessness, with little hope of recovery after the last recent manifestation of disinterest from the Regional gov - at least until the next election ride.
This is the incredible story of a common, with 20,000 annual visitors, an ideal destination for nature lovers, sportsmen, families, animals, and today destined for abandonment. A structure with kitchens, services, immersed in an environment that is being preserved intact and wild, a safe refuge for floristic species and alpine sedentary fauna. Surrounded by enchanting crystalline pools, spectacular waterfalls, fascinating submerged villages, a starting point for trekking - on foot, by bike or on horseback -, paragliding, climbing, canyoning and fishing. In a territory with numerous art events and gastronomic excellences rediscovered by tenacious local producers.
The closure of this small excellence is a very hard blow to the economy of these valleys, which have always been subject to ineffective mountain policies defined by those who sit elsewhere -with strong personal, party and lobbying interests. We talk a lot about the mountains, without ever knowing the dreams, needs and strengths of those who live there. Those who spend any given day in these valleys, and with the inputs of new, young residents and the support of external experts, are now more determined than ever. We have already fought for changing the concessions on hydroelectric basins, and achieving a first victory. This battle will also see us united. We count on the help of all of you who love these places and support the right of the mountains to protect and sustain their environment and communities.
We want the voices of the inhabitants, of the lovers of these valleys, and the efforts of local administrations to be heard: we ask for the immediate reopening of the Val Tramontina Camping and additional investments for the cleaning and future management of the Meduna river bed.
