NSW Government to change the Companion Animals Regulation 1998 Act
With the Companion Animals Regulation 1998 Act is only recognizes Dogs and Cats as living animals. I do believe in this society people are more leaning to easy-care pets such as aquatic pets. However, with that, people are not providing a duty of care towards them. Some of them are kept in a tiny tank with nowhere to swim or no filter to clean the water they swim in. Some might say that they're just fish and have no life but we have problems with Killer Whales being kept in tanks why don't we recognize them in this piece of legislation? Sign this to amend the Act to start providing better care to all living animals One small step, jump, swim at a time. Let's do this!

Get Esther The Wonder Pig home
Hello everyone! As many of you know our sweet princess "Esther The Wonder Pig" is currently being treated at the Ontario Veterinary College. Her dads and all of her extended family are waiting on pins and needles for a diagnosis. As of yet there has not been one. If one is not found there her dads want to take her to Cornell University in the USA. Crossing the border would mean on her return to home she would have to spend a month in quarantine. This is just not acceptable. She is already going through so much and she is a very sensitive "little" girl. That would simply be too much for her. It would be traumatic. It would also be too much for her family. I am asking that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency waive the one month quarantine for Esther as she is not a "food product". She is a family member and a beloved symbol of light and hope. Please help us get through to them just how much her dads and her millions of loved ones around the world need her to get the treatment she needs and to get home as soon as possible and with as little stress as possible. Thank you

Regulating & Registering Veterinary Nursing in Australia
Veterinary Nursing in Australia is an unrecognised profession. Training of Veterinary Nurses is not regulated in Australia and results in people having the same qualification with very varying skills. Furthermore you do not have to study to call yourself a Veterinary Nurse. Please voice your opinion on what you would want for the care of your animals. Support Veterinary Nurses who have studied, and help the government realise we need to be registered just like human nurses.
