SAVE THE WOLF FROM OFFICIAL CENSUSES, HUNTING PLANS AND HUNTING RESERVES IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN (SPAIN). The photograph illustrating the petition corresponds to one of the many wolves slaughtered in the Game Reserve (RRC) of Castilla y León (Spain). In this case, the moment was recorded in the RRC "Sierra de la Culebra" (Zamora) in which they pose, beginning with the Left, the Guard of the same Vicente Matellán, the hunter and hunting Keepers. (For more information see "updates" at the end of the request). The Quercus magazine, specialized in nature studies, in its number 357 of November 2015, publishes an independent census made in Lobisome Naturaleza that uncovers the decline of the Iberian wolf in the RRC "Sierra de la Culebra" (Zamora, Spain) confirming alarmingly the Manifests incompetence in the management and conservation of the canine in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León. In this study, the lack of scientific rigor in the estimations of population of Iberian wolf with the evident pretension of intensifying its legal persecution is verified. The continuous claims to withdraw legal status to the Iberian wolf in the European Parliament by the MAPAMA ministers of the Partido Popular Party (PP), encourages the manipulation of their staff before the European authorities require a technical justification to authorize such Pretensions. This is evidently due to the stability and the demographic increase, as well as in the distribution. Consequently, the methodological irregularities of the "census" tendered by the Junta de Castilla y León to Mario Sáenz de Buruaga, director of the Consultancy of Natural Resources SL and vice president of SECEM, which did not provide personnel for the field work (terms established since the Working Group of the Iberian wolf of MAPAMA) and that received filtered information from the regional administration. In this sense, Environmental Agents who participated in the collection of field data have shown their indignation at this manipulation. The method used in the regional census undertaken between the years 2012-13, examines part of its anomalies in order to establish different interpretations in the spatial distribution of the herds according to the interest, that is to say, corresponds to a RRC (subject to the economic use Of the wolf hunt) or to the rest of the regional territory. In addition, the execution and analysis of the samples have been modified under the strategy of making it difficult to compare with previous censuses, a procedure that helps the proper study of the evolution of populations. Despite this, it assures a supposed increase of the population in a 20% with respect to the last regional census of year 2001. The independent work reveals that the model of hunting used in the RRC of Castile and Leon, does not allow to ensure long-term Iberian wolf populations. There are studies that demonstrate the loss of genetic variability suffered by the Iberian wolf and how their hunting aggravates this process pushing our subspecies endemic to the abyss of extinction.       Ver: See: “¿Está asegurada la conservación del lobo ibérico a largo plazo?” Quercus nº 263. A product of the mistrust that has generated this alternative study, WE DEMAND:         1. 1. The immediate prohibition of hunting of the wolf in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, and by extension, its strict legal protection at national level as in Portugal, Italy or France         2. 2. The disappearance of the figure Regional Game Reserve in Castile and Leon, for representing authentic private land to the exclusive service of the practice of hunting, neglecting the general interest of the conservation of the natural heritage.         3. 3. Invalidate the results of the latest regional census in Castilla y León, calling for a new population survey with independent teams and scientifically endorsed evidence that they remain outside political, sectoral or personal interests.          4. 4. The dismissal of the Director of the RRC "Sierra de la Culebra" Pedro Luis Ramos and his Major Guard Vicente Matellan for manipulating the census carried out in the Space, for eliminating wolf packs unofficially and for prejudicing in a premeditated way the tourism interested in the observation Wolf. Petition to Donald J. Trump, Donald J. Trump, Council of the European Union, Donald Trump

You might be interested if you want to stop climate change.

Many explorers, travel writers, photographers, and artists have been inspired by the glacial beauty of the Arctic over the years. Whether it is the vast ice sheets that cover much of the region’s landscape, the amazing array of wildlife to be found there or the stunning Northern Lights that illuminate its skies, the mysterious sights of this area have never failed to enthrall all those who witness them. Sadly, however, many parts of the region are under serious threat of disappearing forever, thanks to the human-created phenomenon of climate change. Most of the people on Earth, at least half of them, agree that climate change is a serious problem that we need to face as rapidly as possible, but they do nothing because we all assume that someone, one day, will solve the problem (or that magically, climate change will be solved itself) . Since most of the environmental problems need a huge movement that changes lifestyles more than an ethical movement, we tend to just ignore them and continue with our lives. But the truth is that climate change is happening while you're reading this, and as time passes by it's becoming more destructive to the Earth. It's the fact that is melting ice layers and releasing huge amounts of methane trapped in ice caps, is destroying animal habitats, is changing weather, ecosystems and ocean's natural currents, is killing reefs and thousands of other living beings. In fact, the lives of creatures who have evolved over thousands of years to thrive in their own native ecosystems have been altered and there is now more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than there has been for the past 800,000 years, and according to NASA, the world has gotten three degrees warmer within the last hundred years. All of this extra heat is melting the glaciers at the astounding rate of 8.8 million acres per year. --------------------------------------------------------- 2018 UPDATE When I started this petition, three years ago, The Great Barrier Reef was  struggling for its life and all the life that carries. Today in 2018,the World's largest living structure which is the Reef, has almost been totally bleached. In a study published by the journal Nature scientists report that nearly one-third of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s largest living structures, was killed when ocean temperatures spiked in 2016. The underwater heat wave that damaged large areas of the Great Barrier Reef this 2018 has scientists wondering if it will ever be the same again. “The reef is changing faster than anyone thought it would,” Terry P. Hughes, the lead author of the study and the director of a government-funded center for coral reef studies at James Cook University in Queensland, told the New York Times. Rising ocean temperatures result in coral reefs bleaching, which is a process where the coral’s colorful, symbiotic algae that help keep it nourished dies off. The coral’s white skeleton is left behind and because it doesn’t have a source of nourishment, it becomes more susceptible to disease that can prohibit future growth. Without new growth, the coral dies. Austraila’s Great Barrier Reef is home to thousands of species, including sharks, turtles, and whales. The scientists noted that if greenhouse gas emissions continue at their current rate, the reef will be unrecognizable. This is just one exemple of the cost of our lifestyles and it clearly shows how fast this cost is being paid ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The fact that our unsustainable consumption patterns are causing climate change is now well established. It is clear that our unbridled exploitation of the planet’s resources for meat consumption and the benefit of the industry is causing irreversible damage. It was recently reported that human-generated greenhouse gas emissions have even managed to cancel the next ice age, scheduled to take place in 50,000 years’ time. We need to stand up and change the way we are acting on the planet. With this petition I ask the Council of the European Union to ensure an effective plan for this problem and protect nature, but I need your support. I'm hoping to get a significant number of signatures and so be able to present them in a letter to the EU to make them sure that all and each of us do care. If you sign my petition you will receive updates with recent news about the topic and about my campaign.

Petition to Ministerio de Agricultura y Pesca, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente

-------------------------------------------------------------------- English version -------------------------------------------------------------------- THE PROBLEM The generation of plastic waste by the gloves that the service stations distribute free of charge so that the users themselves can refuel (saving the cost of personnel) creates the same problems for the environment as the plastic bags in the shops. Every day, on my way to work, I walk 100 meters down a sidewalk full of disposable plastic gloves that fly from a nearby gas station. I approached the gas station asking them to take care of the cleaning and they told me that it was not their responsibility. It's true, it's our responsibility. HOW IT AFFECTS US ALL The reasons for the request are in the decree itself cited: Royal Decree on Plastic Bags TONS OF PLASTIC IN THE OCEANS AND STEPS TAKEN "Worldwide, between 5 and 13 million tonnes of plastics end up in the oceans every year, between 1.5 and 4% of total production (in EU waters alone between 150,000 and 500,000 tonnes annually), and plastic bags are among the ten plastic items present in our marine debris. 89% of plastic bags are only used once for 12-25 minutes on average and take between 100 and 500 years to decompose completely." THE SOLUTIONJust as the Royal Decree on the reduction of consumption of plastic bags was adopted on 18 May 2018, I propose that a ban on plastic gloves in service stations be considered.
