Petition to Ummah

Ramadan 2018 Blackout Challenge: Social Media Fast

As Ramadan 2018 gets close to an end, we want to encourage all Muslims to get closer to God. One of the best ways to do this is by stopping all social media usage during the last few days of Ramadan.  We are pushing for a "Disconnect to Reconnect" initiative.  Disconnect from social media to reconnect with God.  Considering that more time and focus are lost using social media, rather than benefit gained...we are encouraging all Muslims to not just fast from food and water, but to also fast from social media this Ramadan! We truly believe this will make a change in the global Muslim community, the Ummah. It starts with you as an individual.  All you have to do is:  Sign this petition (which is simply a promise to yourself) Temporarily uninstall all of your social media apps (Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc) (Optional) Leave a comment in the pledge form, letting us know one of your favorite charities.  Muslim Ad Network will be making $25,000 value in donations to the top 25 charities mentioned in the comments, insha'Allah.  (Optional) As your last post on your own social media channels, post a link to this petition form and an image of the #RamadanBlackout  provided in the blog post below.  It lets them know you've committed to the challenge (in case they are wondering where you are :) ), and helps spread the word so others can benefit, insha'Allah.   For more information and details, please visit this blog post:Ramadan 2018 Blackout Challenge

Sheikh Yassir Fazaga needs to stay in Austin. Greater Muslim community of Austin needs him

Austin Muslim Community in general and Cedar park Muslim community in general needs someone like Sheikh Yassir Fazaga. Recent unfortunate events from some minority brothers and sisters in the community caused an escalation in the situation of our beloved Imam Sheikh Yassir and might cause (Allah forbids) the departure of Sheikh Yassir from our community. Let the silent supportive majority's voice be heard and join us in this collective effort to keep the blessing which has been bestowed upon us here in Austin community, Sheikh Yassir Fazaga. We demand a clear explanation from Islamic Center of Brushy Creek (ICBC) about this situation and we demand the board afterwards to do all what they can to keep him around and resolve any tensions which might have caused this kind of unrest and this escalation of events. Here is some of Sheikh Yassir Fazaga's credentials as was posted from the ICBC website back in June 2016 which qualifies him not only to be a religious figure but also a mentor and counselor for the day-to-day issues that any community goes through in life. "Sheikh Yassir Fazaga is an inspiring, multi-lingual speaker sought-after across the USA and Canada. Sheikh Yassir Fazaga has a Bachelor's degree in Islamic studies from the institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Virginia.Sheikh Yassir Fazaga received a Master's degree in Marriage and Family ounseling from the California State university, Long Beach. Shiekh Yassir Fazaga has done numerous interviews about Islam on TV and Radio.Sheikh Yassir Fazaga is listed on the "Who is Who among America's Teachers". Shiekh Yassir Fazaga used to be one of the co-hosts of weekly "WiseLiving" TV program."
