We are STUDENTS, not illegal immigrants.

Dear and respectful Austrian ambassador:We are signing this petition respectfully just for making request from the consulate and other embassy staffs to feel and understand our situation as some worried university students and show us what should we do. We are not illegal immigrants.we are some students who are keen on changing our life and we are interested in continuing our educations in Austrian Universities.Actually we have planned about several important things in our emigration process.During this way we have faced to lots of difficulties that nobody can imagine how much stressful can it be. After spending a long time on receiving the University admission letter we must refer to Austrian embassy in Iran for visa requesting. The most important thing that happens in the Austrian embassy in Iran is that: We have never seen any officially announcements on their website or even on the hanged board on the wall of the embassy!!!!The website is really incomplete and there is not even (D visa form) or any information about student visa applying. Then how can we get informed about the rules and changes??? Unfortunately these days it seems the rule of visa granting to the family has been changed and it is not possible for students and their family members to apply for the visa at the same time.It is shocking for the students who have spent a lot of time and money on preparing the needed documents and translating them and presenting them to the embassy and suddenly they find out that the rule is completely changed.specially for married students,It can be a very important problem for a woman who is a mother too. Imagine she has planned during the process to travel with her children and her husband, but at the latest time, she gets informed that it is impossible and maybe her family members can not join her in the future at all.It makes her in a serious trouble. As some key and important questions: 1_why there is no way to announce an official rule such as informing people on the website or sending them an email, specially the ones who have had appointment?!?! 2_ How is it possible that the implementation of a new rule influences on the process of some people who have done their projects with the previous law?(There are many students and their family members who have had reserved appointments since 3months ago together, but now the embassy does not accept them just because of the new rule.) 3_As it is current all around the world about any new rules, before implementation of them, people are given enough time in order to get adopted with the law. Then why do not you give us more time to adopt ourselves with the new rules?! Now the requests: 1_please inform us about any new rules officially. 2_please give us a while to be adopted with the new situations. 3_please let people who have made appointments from the past ,do their process according to the previous rules. 4_please let children travel with their parents at the same time by granting them visa.5_Please let the family members can apply for the visa with the student ( changing this rule really ruin many people's future who have planned and have struggled for 1.5 year ) 6_please make our education process a little easier. We are not illegal immigrants. And finally:We all thank you because of your special attention and patience.

Please stop misbehavior with Iranian applicants for Austrian Visa !

Dear Sir, Here is Iran, We love our country and we like to stay in our country as you like, But maybe in these days we prefer to follow for a bigger goal ( better study opportunities ) and decided to move to one of the best country with an old culture in the world , I mean Austria. In this path we have so many problems and maybe nobody can never imagine the stresses in this way but we started and have planned to move, and after a hard and long time to be granted for the university admission letter we should go to Austrian embassy in Iran for Visa requesting. But it is unbelievable that you see the some of the staffs at the embassy behave imperiously that you will be surprised if you are in embassy of Austria or in courtroom as a guilty! You always worry and have stress if you ask something, ask a question or even want to talk, they rush you! Most of the time they order irascibility to you and you should never protest them.too many people always want to claim from staffs that we don't know the name but one of them ( woman ) singes SH, and a new staff ( woman ) and also doorman that behave really imperiously !! It is impossible to find any official announcement, they decide something and start to execute. If someone go there will be surprised of new decision. Would you please someone help us to have respect as the other nationality have in the Austrian embassy? We have these request in below and ask you to investigate :1. Respect2. Announcement of changing Rules3. Proctor on the employee behavior with clients

Petition to University of Massachusetts Amherst, Chancellor's Office

Reverse the New Admission Policy Regarding Iranian Nationals

On February 6, 2015, UMass Amherst posted a new policy [1] regarding Iranian students applying to several graduate programs. The new policy is based on the “Iran Threat Reduction and Syria Human Rights Act of 2012” enacted by the congress in August 2012, which states that Iranians are "ineligible for U.S. visas if they are seeking to participate in higher education in preparation for a career in Iran’s petroleum, natural gas, nuclear energy, nuclear science, or nuclear engineering fields." Leveraging the aforementioned act, UMass Amherst's new policy states that it "will no longer admit Iranian national students to specific programs in the College of Engineering (i.e., Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering) and in the College of Natural Sciences (i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Polymer Science & Engineering) effective February 1, 2015." As a faculty member at UMass Amherst, in my opinion, UMass Amherst's new policy regarding Iranian students is the most expansive and potentially discriminatory interpretation of the “Iran Threat Reduction and Syria Human Rights Act of 2012.” This policy deprives students of Iranian nationality of the right to admission in many research disciplines that are not directly related to "petroleum, natural gas, nuclear energy, nuclear science, or nuclear engineering fields" targeted by the act. I find this new policy to be in serious conflict with our institutional values and principles at UMass Amherst, including non-discrimination based on nationality. I am also deeply concerned that the new policy will negatively affect (and has already affected) the academic reputation of my institution, UMass Amherst. Therefore, I request that this new policy be removed. [1] http://www.umass.edu/gradschool/sites/default/files/iranian_student_admissions_2_2015.pdf
