-- English short version below -- Die Welt befindet sich in einer Krise. Jede*r spürt die Auswirkungen von Covid-19 und besonders gravierend wird die Lage für Flüchtende, u.A. auf Lesbos. #LoveIsEssential. Lift travel bans for lovers to reunite couples!
Dear EU-leaders, (and respectively all leaders from NA, LATAM, MENA, APAC, etc.) ----- UPDATED June 25th, 2020: updates on precedents, demand, clarifications and solutions ---- Love is essential. Therefore, love should be an essential reason for travel and enable non-EU-citizens in an "international" partnership to enter the European Union (+associated states) along with all other permitted essential travellers (cross-border workers, passengers travelling for imperative family reasons, health-care personal, etc.) AND VICE VERSA (refers to U.S., Brazil, Russia, and all other affected countries currently banning travel into their countries)! Speaking for all (non-married) couples and (wider) families being separated at the moment, this ask comes from the deepest of our hearts in a time where love, especially between people of different nations and origins, is more important than ever to make this world a better, more human and happier place. Energy flows where focus goes. Help everyone affected to focus on creating positive economic impact, spread happiness and support others in need, instead of having to worry about one of the most essential aspects of life, which is LOVE. 1. There is precedent - Denmark has already begun allowing those with long term girlfriends/boyfriends into Denmark, no matter the country of origin, provided they have a negative coronavirus test taken < 3 days before arrival, by June 27th. https://um.dk/en/news/newsdisplaypage/?newsID=682B5B45-7FD2-4D2A-BDD8-22BC9ABCC62D&fbclid=IwAR1uezt4DPEK6KD0n2bbpFz0MFmtMxMidayOw6uadH0Df0ZQYeLfsGP2Lhg This should be an EU-wide policy, especially given the Commission's seeming desire to have standardization in entry procedures and exemptions. If the test is not enough to guarantee safety (as one could of course be infected within those 3 days), countries could mandate a 14-day (or truly even longer) quarantine, as we're sure testing within airports is not able to ramp up this quickly. 2. There is demand - We are left in the dark if we are heard and if the Commission even has this community of separated couples and families on its radar, but we want you to know that it is a large community. This Change.org petition already has 800+ signees and has been explicitly supported by a member of the EU Parliament, Rasmus Andresen . There is a huge petition addressed towards Horst Seehofer (Minister of the Interior of Germany) called Einreisebeschränkungen für binationale Paare und Familien unbürokratisch aufheben! with more than 7.500 supporters. https://www.change.org/p/keine-einreisebeschr%C3%A4nkungen-f%C3%BCr-binationale-paare-und-familien-heikomaas-bmi-bund-auswaertigesamt And another petition #LiftTheTravelBan on EU/UK entering the US addressed at the U.S. leaders (Donald Trump et al) also including couples with one partner in the EU and growing significantly. https://www.change.org/p/donald-j-trump-liftthetravelban-on-europe There are several Facebook groups specifically devoted to understanding and keeping up with news on this ban that have thousands of members with a new post frequency of once every 10 minutes. Couples Separated by EU/US Travel Ban https://www.facebook.com/groups/314772869924351 Familien und Paare in einem Europa ohne Grenzen https://www.facebook.com/groups/1659141337557955 and many more... And please check Twitter for widely used hashtags (#) such as #LoveIsEssential #LoveIsNotTourism #LiftTheTravelBan You are going to be swamped with messages of couples currently fighting the same fight! 3. There are reliable and easily implementable solutions - introduce self-quarantine (of 14 days or longer), self-paid COVID-19 tests, self-declaration, etc.! We would do almost everything for the possibility to be with our beloved ones again! 4. There needs to be clarification - There is this thread of over 3 thousand comments (and 2 more preceding it) as well as countless online forums devoted to trying to understand current restrictions. We understand it is a difficult feat, but we individuals should not be forced to rely on each other to analyze and understand at the most basic level the regulations provided to us by the government. There is currently no clarity or unity among EU states with regards to several issues:- Whether or not border restrictions refer to country of origin (i.e. where your flight came from) or country of citizenship: for example, if one were to go from the US to the UK and quarantine for 15 days, it is currently not clear across member states and even within member states if they would then be allowed to travel to an EU state- How to prove to airlines that one has permission to fly: there have been countless reports and anecdotes of individuals who were told they would be able to enter a country with specified documentation but were turned away from the airline. This should not happen.- Why no countries besides Denmark have clarified the term 'durable relationship', as referenced in Article 3.2b of the commission's own released restrictions: there is no clarity in many states besides Denmark of what 'durable relationship' is defined by. For example, in Sweden, the border controls website states that one can potentially prove a cohabiting partnership with a marriage certificate, previous rental agreement, etc. but that these are not a guarantee. It is the responsibility of the EU Commission to clarify and make sure each member state actually understands its restrictions. 5. Love is not tourism - In a world, where half the world is going on vacation again (which they more than deserve!), please don't forget about us couples. In relation to vacationers, we would be even more cautious to not spread the virus, be mindful and do everything needed! In difficult times, humans are meant to surround themselves with the ones they love. And lately, in these very, very difficult times, all we want is to be able to be with the ones we love. Thank you for your time and consideration. We do truly appreciate it and sincerely hope you and your family are safe and healthy in these times.
Petition to Berliner Rathaus, Michael Müller, Stadtrat Berlin
Umbenennung der Mohrenstraße / Renaming of Mohrenstraße in Berlin
——— "Mohren" - a German racial slur. "Mohrenstraße" (transl. 'straße' = 'street') - The name of a street in Germany's capital city, Berlin. The naming of this street amounts to former dark-skinned residents of this area. Despite several debates about the roots of this street name it is certain that it finds its origins in slavery. After the abolition of racism-motivated naming, in times of the Black Lives Matter movement and the constant striving for equality in the 21st century it is long overdue to consider a renaming of this street. Especially a international city like Berlin should lead by example and fight against discrimination and racism.

Lasst Slum-Band 'DOCH CHKAE' zu Wacken! #wackenwaisen
Vielen Dank, Timon Seibel & Doch Chkae

Do you have Room For A Change?
DO YOU HAVE ROOM FOR A CHANGE? Room For A Change is a growing initiative of EU citizens. We are urging the European Union and its 27 member states to take responsibility for refugees. The European Union aims to provide a life in dignity, prosperity and safety for its citizens. However, for refugees on the European borders and inside the EU this does not apply. Instead, human rights are constantly violated. Our decision-makers are denying humans the basic needs that we are taking for granted. We, the citizens of the European Union, do no longer tolerate the constant mistreatment of our values. We demand: R – Rescue We are calling for a new joint EU sea rescue mission to prevent further deaths in the Mediterranean Sea. Physical violence towards and abuse of refugees on the European borders and inside the EU have to stop immediately. Stop pushbacks on the European borders. F – Fair treatment Refugees are frequently reduced to numbers, figures and being a problem – stripping them of their individual context and identity. We must respect their human rights by treating each and every person with dignity, empathy, equality and humanity. The European Union pride themselves in sharing a unique set of values. We want every member state to also share social responsibility and thus to commit to a fair and proportional distribution of asylum-seekers. A – Accommodation Access to safe and humane accommodation is essential for a life in dignity. Inhumane living conditions for refugees on the European borders and inside the European Union have to end immediately. Instead, we are calling on decision-makers to quickly provide accommodation with access to basic amenities (water, food, hygiene, heating, electricity, medical & psychological care). C – Change in perspective Currently most decision-makers speak about refugees but not with them. This has to change. Refugees have to be involved in discussing issues, solutions and decisions on their own fate. Open Call: Do you want to join the team of Room For A Change? Help us create further awareness for the current situation of refugees. Together we want to change the Status quo! We’d love to get to know you! Contact us at: info[at]roomforachange.eu
Petition to the Swedish Migration Agency, firstname.lastname@example.org , email@example.com
Mrs. Narges Alidoust Jalali (Ref. Number: 0-228351/9)
Göteborg Asylum Examination Unit Box 1087 405 23 Göteborg Fax: 031-795 53 30 Your Excellency, I am writing to express my concern about the Iranian asylum seeker - Mrs. Narges Alidoust Jalali (Ref. Number: 0-228351/9) - political and human rights activist in Sweden and she has not been granted the refugee status and asylum in your Good Country, despite of her credible reasons (on the basis of her documents presented to the Swedish Immigration Office showing her tireless activities against the regime in Iran.) for claiming asylum, and she shall be in danger of persecution as defined by asylum law. As a reason for her decision to come to your good Country, she stated that he had chosen Sweden "because human rights and freedom of belief prevail here". On the other side, she has been converted to the Christianity in Sweden. The Christians in Iran, especially converts, face both social and legal discrimination. Converts have faced penalties up to and including death in the past. Nobody should be persecuted because of their faith. Your good country has a responsibility to protect those who are facing torture, imprisonment or death due to their religious beliefs. Iran is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians with both preaching and conversion being illegal. Converts face social exclusion, arrest, and long prison sentences. Studies show that Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world and the European Court of Human Rights has rightly invited submissions on the situation that converts face in Iran, Your kind attention and consideration in this respect is highly appreciated and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Petition to Thai government
VACCINATED VISITORS TO DODGE QUARANTINE TO TRAVEL TO
There are tremendous numbers of people who won’t come to Thailand, or won’t come to any country that has a quarantine, because it takes too much time. We want the Thai government to remove the need to quarantine for visitors who have completed a course of officially recognised vaccines.
Petition to Abd al-Fattah as-Sisi
Call for immediate investigation into the disappearance of 400 people!
WHY THIS PETITION MAKES A DIFFERENCE: With this petition as an addition to a draft letter to Embassies involved relevant organisations we demand on inquiry into the disappearance about this 400 people! If we have a respectable number of signatures on this petition we can reach out to the responsible authorities and give a voice to this helpless people! WHAT HAPPENED: The war of July to August 2014 pushed many Gazans to flee for safety. Women, men, and children have taken the perilous road to Europe, of which Egypt is the first step. On the 6th of september 2014 around 11pm a ship with hundreds of people disappeared after its departure from Alexandria port in Egypt. A list of 400 names of asylum seekers who have disappeared and may be locked away in the Al-Azuli prison was published. On board were Egyptians (260), Syrians (120), Palestinians (200), Sudanese and people from the Comoros Islands that were on their way to find refuge and a life without danger of death in Europe. The vessel was named the Haji Mohamed Saad and was headed toward the Italian island of Lampedusa. For three days the boat travelled, after which all connection and whereabouts was lost. At the time, Palestinian families mobilized and demanded accounts from the Egyptian government, which remained a dead letter. All signs vanished and the relatives of the passengers assumed that their friends and family members died. The ship wrack or any dead bodies have officially never been found and there was for longer than 6 years simply no answer. A few days ago, photos from inside an egyptian prison appeared in the media and some of the people could be identified as passengers from the Haji Mohamed Saad being held in this egyptian prison Al-Azuli. People were asking authorities for evidence and of course wanted to know about their missing beloved. These requests have never been answered. Now that these pictures appeared, there are many more questions! These people may stuck in prison longer than 6 years! Relatives dont know if their people are alive or dead. Now its late but its the time to answer this questions which havent been answered for many years!
