Petition to Rex Tillerson, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives

@StateDept: Stop Licensing Gun Sales to Mexican Military and Police

Dear Secretary of State Tillerson,The State Department should suspend licenses to ship firearms to Mexican military and police until the U.S. can ensure they do not go to forces that collude with organized crime or violate human rights. Gun homicides in Mexico this year are the highest on record. Yet: • U.S. legal gun exports to the Mexican military, which distributes guns to state and local police, are nearly ten times what they were in 2001-2004; • the State Department licensed $266 million worth of gun sales by the U.S. gun producer Sig Sauer to the Mexican military; and • the Mexican Army sells guns to police with no verifiable mechanisms to track U.S. firearm shipments. As a result, U.S. companies have exported assault weapons to police that violate human rights and collude with organized crime, including police who attacked and disappeared 43 students from Ayotzinapa. The two major earthquakes that shook Mexico in September caused billions of dollars in damages to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. Two hundred fifty thousand Mexicans lost their homes. U.S.-Mexico trade should benefit the majority of people in both countries, not arm forces that are destroying families and causing them to flee in search of refuge. The United States must stop weapons exports to end users in the Mexican military and police for whom there is documentation of collusion with organized crime or commission of gross human rights violations, until they have been brought to justice.

End Gun Violence in America Now

If you abhor gun violence, sign this petition.  If you are disgusted by the more than 12,000 deaths each year in this country due to guns, sign this petition.  If you are sick and tired of the everyday senseless murder of children and students, parents and grandparents, sons and daughters, innocents, Americans, sign this petition. If you value human life, sign this petition and let us send the members of the house and senate the following message:    Dear Representatives of the People, Contrary to presidential opinion, this is the time for politics. We have reached a point of critical mass in this country where every week we are inundated with the latest mass murder, followed by nothing but hollow platitudes and flags at half staff. These massacres have become such common place that we are desensitized to their true horror, and cowed by the blasé attitudes that our elected officials have shown towards the tremendous loss of life here on our home soil.  We, the undersigned, are tired of seeing stories of mass murder on the news. We, the undersigned, do not believe the lame insinuations that these are the results of untreated mental health issues. We, the undersigned, are unmoved by weak bills and measures regarding silencers, specific gun models, and clip size. We, the undersigned, recognize that our elected officials have failed to protect American lives, and that in their misguided efforts to protect the second amendment, they directly empower killers such as Stephen Paddock (58 killed), Adam Lanza (26 killed), Devin Kelley (26 killed), James Holmes (12 killed), Omar Mateen (49 killed), Robert Hawkins (8 killed), Dylan Roof (9 killed), Jeff Weise (9 killed), Esteban Santiago-Ruiz (5 killed), Chris Harper-Mercer (9 killed), Scott Evans Dekraai (8 killed), Steven Phillip Kazmierczak (5 killed), Jennifer San Marco (7 killed), Michael Kenneth McLendon (10 killed), Jared Lee Loughner (6 killed), Seung-Hui Cho (32 killed), Elliot Rodger (6 killed), Charles Carl Roberts (5 killed), Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (13 killed), Micah Xavier Johnson (5 killed), Kyle Aaron Huff (6 killed), and so many others. We, the undersigned, cannot condone the more than 33,000 firearm-related deaths in the United States each year (the annual average compiled from C.D.C. data). We, the undersigned, will not sit back while mass shootings occur nearly every day in our country. We, the undersigned, value the lives of our fellow Americans, and do not want to see anyones life ended by gun violence, including suicides. We, the undersigned, demand action.  The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act must be dismissed completely, not simply allowed to hang over the heads of hundreds of millions of American’s like an ax waiting to drop. Not only that, we must also make it harder for people to obtain guns. From Vox: "Last year, researchers from around the country reviewed more than 130 studies from 10 countries on gun control for Epidemiologic Reviews. This is, for now, the most current, extensive review of the research on the effects of gun control. The findings were clear: 'The simultaneous implementation of laws targeting multiple firearms restrictions is associated with reductions in firearm deaths.' The study did not look at one specific intervention, but rather a variety of kinds of gun control, from licensing measures to buyback programs. Time and time again, they found the same line of evidence: Reducing access to guns was followed by a drop in deaths related to guns. And while non-gun homicides also decreased, the drop wasn’t as quick as the one seen in gun-related homicides — indicating that access to guns was a potential causal factor.” It is ignorant to dismiss the fact that as a nation we have more guns and more gun-related deaths than any other developed country in the world. We are not, by nature, a more violent people; we are not, by nature, a more mentally ill people; we quite simply have more guns and more legal access to guns. That is the problem. Plain and simple.  We, the undersigned, demand bills that require more frequent and more stringent background checks. We, the undersigned, demand bills that limit the sale of military grade/law-enforcement grade munitions, such as, but not limited to, high-powered rifles and body armor, to name a few. We, the undersigned, demand bills that prevent the sale and use of mods designed for maximum carnage, including but not limited to, bump stocks, silencers, and large capacity magazines, to name a few. We, the undersigned, demand that greater action be taken to prevent the continued slaughter of innocent Americans at the hands of other Americans and the gun lobby.

Mandate Gun Owner's Insurance, License/Renewal Tests & Record Trade of Ammo, Gun etc .

About Me: Unpopular regular individual, Not paid by/affiliated with any insurance companies. Thought: Gun violence will linger around unless and until people stop making a Democratic vs Republican discussion out of it. I propose following apolitical approach on the matter- Mandatory Gun Owner's Insurance: Insurance Mandate will organize the process of owning, maintaining gun and encourage the responsibility among the owners Owner's insurance will demotivate people with hobby, enthusiast and emotional intentions Gun Owner's insurance will add another layer of Owner eligibility check Ammo and guns buy-sell record should be tied to the license, Insurance, to record any unnatural activity. Insurance design will encourage deep study, research and analysis of gun violence and help determine the systematic gun use. Mandatory Gun License Test, Registration, Renewal: License Test will provide the opportunity of teaching about social responsibility, personality evaluation, malicious thoughts influencing, Positive reinforcement License test, Registration, Renewal method will keep gun owners on the record, keep them reachable and traceable. Different levels/layers to eligibility of guns & ammo can be added based on the Gun owners profile, which will control the unwanted nuisance created by unreasonable owners. Gun Owners must file a yearly Ammo/Gun used in annual year X paperwork. Audits can be done on the Gun Owner's record vs ownership. Hefty penalties will enforce the reasonable use and weed out non-sense Political leaders and lobbyist will have no choice but to fulfill public demand if we get enough signatures on this petition. I request your support.
