Legalize Cannabis/Industrial Hemp Federally and in ALL 50 States

FREE THE GREEN: RESPONSIBLE ADULT USE https://youtu.be/4uIwIZ6Nw-4 EDUCATING THE PUBLIC IS MORE VITAL THAN JUST HAVING REGULATIONS. Legalize it. Educate folks about it. Research it freely. I was inspired to create this petition because, despite the 2018 Farm bill which removed Hemp from the schedule 1 list of controlled substances, North Carolina lawmakers are now trying to pass a ban on all Hemp farming (NC Senate House Bill 315). I posted a video regarding this fight which is posted below. The only role government should play is reasonable, responsible age restrictions on all sales. Otherwise, any legislation regarding Cannabis is a fundamental interference in the affairs of adults who use it responsibly. Just because a sizeable profit can be made by something doesn't mean the government has the right to infringe upon the people and get loads of money from it. If our government wants to make a ton of money from taxing Cannabis why don't they just grow it themselves and sell it, and leave it up to the people whether or not they want to buy it? It's fine if they still want to tax it, but that shouldn't be the only focus. Simply stated, the deeper issue is personal freedom. The overall message here: "DEAR U.S. GOVERNMENT,  MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!" I would suggest the government focus on more important issues like drug overdose prevention, infrastructure, Healthcare, education, etc. and honestly representing the best interests of "we the people"! Law enforcement says they can't tell the difference between smokable hemp flower and marijuana; my response is simple - leave them both alone and stop harassing the American people over this! The whole War on Drugs is one of the most destructive institutions because we are, and have been for decades, literally destroying ourselves from within by treating it like a criminal problem when it really is a public health issue. Educating the public is one of the most powerful tools to promote responsible and ethical policy. Personally, CBD has literally replaced numerous prescription anti-depressents with no harmful side-effects. The benefits I have reaped from smokable hemp flower go beyond the power of words. Generally speaking, government overreach is absolutely out of control. Laws rarely in and of themselves are a strong deterrent, most especially when, as in this case, they are hideously unjust. Are our state and federal governments incapable of just allowing adults choose for themselves what is best for them without constant interference and unnecessary regulation? Let's stop fining people, giving them criminal records, locking them up, and seizing their personal property over a plant! Cannabis and Hemp are beneficial plants that should no longer be criminalized. The majority of Americans want this plant to be 100% legal just like alcohol and tobacco (both of which are highly more dangerous and proven fatal - unlike Cannabis and Industrial Hemp(Cannabadiol - CBD)). If history has taught us anything,  it is that prohibition simply doesn't work! Many people can benefit medicinally from Cannabis and hemp as well. Cannabis plants can be a safe alternative to conventional prescription drugs, which often cause numerous unwanted side-effects, to treat PTSD, anxiety disorders, insomnia, pain, loss of appetite, opioid addiction, alcoholism, seizures, and chronic depression - just to name a few. Some would argue we don't know enough about the long-term effects of using this plant. I would argue that this plant is as old as dirt and if there were detrimental long term consequences to its use we would know by now! Petition to Donald J. Trump, Donald J. Trump, Donald Trump, Lawrence Kupers, William N Taylor II

GRANT CLEMENCY TO OUR SON EDWIN RUBIS - 40 YEARS FOR MARIJUANA IS NOT JUSTICE

Our son, Edwin Rubis, is serving a federal sentence of 40 years for a non-violent marijuana offense. [www.marijuanaliferproject.org/federal-prisoner-edwin-rubis-is-serving-life-for-marijuana/ At age 29, our son, while battling drug addiction, associated himself with drug couriers, and was charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana. After his arrest, his court-appointed attorney advised him, along with us, that he needed to provide information on others in the drug trade. Edwin could not provide such information. Therefore, he was quickly deemed "uncooperative", and the judge gave him a harsh sentence - 40 years.Edwin has been away from us for the last 19 years. During the course of time, we have adamantly petitioned, and at times cried, for his early release, at every level of the court system. Sadly to say, we continue to struggle, missing him, with no positive resolution to obtain his freedom. Edwin's children need him. We need him. Our son is not a terrorist, a rapist, a gang member, nor a violent individual to continually be kept in prison for decades for distributing marijuana. While imprisoned, Edwin has taken diligent steps to better himself. He has achieved numerous rehabilitation programs from the psychology and religious departments. He has graduated from college with a degree in Religious Education; and he is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling and Therapist Certification. In addition, he serves as a mentor to others, under the supervision of the head chaplain. He is also working as a G.E.D. and E.S.L. tutor in the education department, at his present institution of confinement, helping others further their education. In addition, Edwin also finished a 2 year dental apprenticeship from The Department of Labor, and worked as a dental assistant for the last 7 years in the medical department. We love our son, [uncle, father, and brother]. We wish for him to receive another chance at life. But our dream for him to be reunited with us, can not be accomplished without your full support. Please help us obtain our son's freedom by signing this petition urging President Donald Trump to grant our son clemency or a pardon. Edwin is a changed man. He has been fully rehabilitated and deserves a second chance at life. Sincerely, Maria Roque - and - Family.

Petition to Senator Mike Crapo, Parents Opposed to Pot, Moms Strong, National Families in Action, Safe our Society from Drugs, Department of Education, United States Department of Health and Human Services, medical, Emergency Departments, drug prevention, addiction, metnal health, suicide, psychosis , DUI, Food and Drug Administration, United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, Federal Drug Administration

Protect Our Youth, not Marijuana! No to S.1200. Banking bill = Vape Banking bill!!

Dear Senator Mike Crapo: We, the families who have been harmed by marijuana and its many delivery systems, thank you for your past stance against federal legalization and in favor of keeping the marijuana industry out of our country’s protected banking.  Please stand firm in what is right and do not compromise or legitimize any product from the marijuana industry that hasn't been proven safe by the FDA.  The FDA’s lack of support coupled with the Surgeon General’s new warnings and what science is discovering to be true should be adequate indication that actions being contemplated in the “SAFE” Banking Act, S.1200 The Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act of 2019, are not in the interest of general public health and safety.  We approach you today as families who have lost our loved ones to death or diminished lives due to the effects of THC. Senator, we represent a growing number of citizens and constituents who have loved ones that have been harmed from the effects of marijuana and its derivatives, through addiction, suicide, lung disease, impaired driving, violence, homelessness, elder and child abuse, neglect, psychosis, and other mental illnesses.  We all have personal testimonies to tell that back up what science is finding to be true about tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), all that either began with marijuana abuse, or where THC was the only contributing factor.  Today’s highly potent marijuana products, including vapes and edibles, are delivery systems for a dangerous drug that has yet to prove its value but is daily revealing its harms. The science is well established and clear, and the facts remain: Marijuana vapes bought from legal marijuana shops are harming and killing people of all ages. Marijuana is a causal factor for psychosis. Marijuana is a causal factor for suicide. Marijuana is a causal factor for impaired driving and more fatalities on our roads. Marijuana is addictive and can be a gateway drug and is a causal factor in the homeless epidemic.  Marijuana toxic effects are also causing severe vomiting, pain, and death with a condition called Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome.  Marijuana is harming our most precious resource, our children.  Marijuana disconnects us as humans and allows behaviors that perpetuate hate, bullying, and violence. A review from the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine makes it clear what the harms and failures have been in Colorado.  "Cannabis legalization has led to significant health consequences, particularly to EDs and hospitals in Colorado. The most concerning include psychosis, suicide, and other substance abuse."   We ask you, Senator Crapo, and all legislators, to allow us to share our stories before any misinformed sympathy for this misunderstood industry leads to compromise with the drug investors. Although the choice is a clear one, we know that this will not be a peaceful battle. Many of us have been educating lawmakers and the public for years and have been verbally, professionally, and emotionally attacked by those who have a vested interest in legalization, either by investment or use. As a result of this abuse from the marijuana industry’s responders, aimed at curtailing our first amendment rights through bully tactics, many families have stopped speaking publicly and have been forced to deal with the loss of their loved ones privately, not even allowed to peacefully voice their concerns and testimonies in an attempt to keep others from suffering through what we have had to endure.  These are the victims of the harassment of the legalization forces, who will stop at nothing, not even craven disregard for the grief of families devastated by marijuana's impact, in the pursuit of their goal to have this drug legalized. Are these the ‘forces’ who you want to protect through the SAFE Banking bill? We ask that sympathy be with the victims and their families.  Marijuana is a common foundation of addiction and mental illness and a key factor in the growth of felony-level violent acts. We know marijuana is a driving factor in the increase of suicides and the addiction crisis, and legitimizing and promoting marijuana use only increases harms and allows a few to profit. No amount of marijuana has been proven safe to be used in all adults or children, so the burden of proof is on the marijuana industry. Until they can prove marijuana is safe to use recreationally, we ask you to stop this bill and any other bill that will continue to aid and abet this industry, causing great harm.  America cannot afford to legitimize, legalize, commercialize, normalize, or protect marijuana.  Thank you for your consistent and thoughtful service. Mom Strong is a community of families who have banded together to tell our stories and unmask the marijuana charade.
