Make Leaving Your Dogs In A Hot Vehicle Illegal! #keepdogscool

Many people are enjoying this heatwave, but the sweltering summer heat poses a huge risk for dogs who are left in baking hot cars. It’s dangerous, it can kill them, and it has to stop - so I’m calling on the government to make it illegal to leave dogs in hot cars. I work at a pet shop and I have four dogs of my own. While at work I keep hearing from customers who’ve seen dogs left in dangerously hot vehicles during this heatwave. A car can become as hot as an oven very quickly, even when it doesn’t feel that warm. And leaving a window open or parking in the shade doesn’t make much difference. When it’s 22 degrees outside, in a car it can reach an unbearable 47 degrees within the hour. Many of the offenders get off with just a warning. This is because you can only get convicted under the 2006 Animal Welfare Act if your dog dies or falls ill from being left in a car. This means that dogs up and down the country are being tortured time and again, with no consequences for the owner. If it’s made illegal to leave a dog in a hot car, it will send out a clear message, act as a strong deterrent and help save many vulnerable dogs from unnecessary distress and death. The new law should also be signposted in car parks to help make dog owners aware and deter them from breaking the law. The heatwave is set to continue so we need as many signatures as possible to change the law and save dogs’ lives! Please sign!

Thane Region Mumbai - High Alert : WARNING WARNING WARNING, PLEASE SHARE TO SAVE YOUR AREA DOGS HEAR THE CORRUPTION AND DOG KILLER VOICE Society / Street dogs are getting killed in TMC (Thane Municipal Corporation) in the name of steralisation of dogs, We ( Salim & Sonali Waghmare) have exposed the vet Satish Patil. who is working with some "We team Organisation" TMC have given contract to them for steralisation of dogs, to run ABC program, where the dogs are getting operated and released next day on the road without healing stitches. As per Vet Satish Patil, this is the policy of the NGO where they have to released the dog next day and not to follow ABC 2001 Program rule, where the law says that the dog should be kept for 5 to 7 days for post operative care or until the dog is healed. The ABC rule 2001 is clearly violated and ignored, just because they want to empty the cages to fill more dogs, so more dogs more money in less time. The dog is not given chance to heal & recover before it is released on road. This incident came in to highlight because my activist Sonali Waghmare used to feed this dog and was taking care since birth, the healthy male dog was just 8 months old and it got killed just because it was released early on road that is next day, whereas the dog should be kept for more 5 to 7 days. We have approached police and have done legal formalities from Panchnama to Postmortem, Very Soon we will file Fir and will see to it that the culprits should be punished soon. The eligibility and recognition of this Organisation is Doubtful, we are investigating the matter and soon will approach to Municipal Commissioner and AWBI for the same, and will report the incident to them and will ask them to stop the ABC program until the protocol of ABC rule 2001 is followed. As Per Audio Statement Vet Satish Patil blamed his senior Dr. Chariar that on his instruction the dog is released next day and this protocol has to be followed. TMC Dr. tried to manipulate the case by requesting us that they will do the Postmortem without police interference, but we straightaway rejected their offer, and we took action through police as per law. Listen to the Audio of Vet Satish Patil who clearly and confidently accept his crime and also hear the audio where TMC is trying to manipulate the case by giving offers like they will do PM. Please don't allow TMC to take your street/ Society dogs for butcher. Protect your dogs and show them this Post and Audio Evidence and asked them that on what basis they are picking up dogs.

Petition to UK Government, RSPCA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)

Implement a stricter law on minimum age for puppies to leave a breeders home in the UK.

At present, under the Breeding and Sale of Dogs (Welfare) Act 1999, Breeding of Dogs Act 1991 and Breeding of Dogs Act 1973, there is a law stating that a puppy must stay with the litter until it reaches the age of 8 weeks old. This law only covers those breeders who have a license, and only covers those breeders who sell to licensed pet shops or rearing establishments, meaning that it is technically legal to sell puppies on at ANY age to families and buyers outwith these establishments. There is no blanket to cover "hobby breeders", and no set laws in place to protect both breeders and dogs being sold. It is vital that new puppies stay with their mother until at least 8 weeks old to learn bite inhibition, receive vital nutrients and to aid development properly.  It has come to our attention that a reality star was sold a puppy at 5 weeks from a breeder and then had it outdoors with no vaccinations. The said reality star has been accused of paying extra to receive the puppy before the 8 week mark was reached. The rottweiler puppy then caught an infection, and had to have a leg amputated. The puppy died soon after. This is a combination of unethical breeding, and negligence from both parties, which could have been solved if there were a strict law enforced, with real penalties, to stop the selling of puppies before they reach an age that they can leave their litter and venture into the public.  Many breeders around the UK follow an ethical code, ensuring that all puppies stay at the breeders home until at least 8 weeks and receive basic vet health checks, and at least their first DHP injection and worming treatment before being sold. The optimum age to leave the litter would be between 8-12 weeks to allow for proper development and for them to receive the vaccinations appropriate to reduce the risk of fatal diseases such as Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus at the discretion of the buyer.  We ask that a law be put in place to ensure that all puppies leaving a breeders home - licensed or hobbyist - must be over the age of 8 weeks, and have at least the  basic vet health checks recorded as standard to stop this happening again in future. We ask that you amend the current Breeding and Sale of Dogs Act, or create a new act that protects hobby breeders, the puppies they are selling and the buyers of these puppies, and enforce stricter penalties for those who disobey the Acts.
