Petition to New Zealand Government
Give us local pricing of Seafood and Dairy products
Why are New Zealanders being charged export prices for seafood and dairy products? Butter is almost $6 a block and we produce it locally! Try finding fish for under $20/kg, it's not easy! Here's a way to reduce poverty, that we shouldn't need to petition for!! Do you think locals in the middle east are charged export pricing for petrol? What about Pacific Islanders for seafood in the islands. Locals should come first! I propose that each year the yield of these products should be audited and a proportion delegated for sale inside New Zealand at local prices, exporters/suppliers can then price the exports at a higher rate to compensate for any loss attributed to the local pricing. Come on people, it's time to gain some control over our country's produce!
Petition to Barnaby Joyce, Joel Fitzgibbon, Jaala Pulford, Barnaby Joyce
Barnaby Joyce: dairy farmers are facing a daily struggle - please step in urgently
I am only 16 years old and have grown up on a dairy farm my entire life, but the massive cuts to milk prices - slashed by 10% and more - have had significant and horrible impact on finances and our lives. Not only have greedy corporates like Fonterra and Murray Goulburn cut the price they will pay us for milk - retrospectively cutting income means farmers will be left hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt! Putting profit before people and leaving thousands of families in the dirt. To ruin Australia's own home grown business is disgraceful. But this can be changed - Agricultural Minister Barnaby Joyce must step in to reverse these cuts and commit to a national review of the ridiculous pricing system leaving farmers in debt. It’s a tough life being a farmer, but we don't have to fight it alone - no one deserves to be stripped financially by the greed of others. There are many more families out there just like mine. So please - let's all unite and do something before it's too late. Please sign & share and let’s together tell Barnaby Joyce to review the milk pricing system - don’t let greedy corporates ruin Aussie dairy farmers!
