Coronavirus Worker Rights
Petition to Andrew M. Cuomo
Hazard Pay for Transit workers
We as Transit workers are considered first responders and essential , we took an oath to keep the city moving we are on the frontline with this virus and are being mandated to come in and we will do it proudly and continue to help provide the service which has been called “the lifeblood of the city” by the Governor and the Mayor we feel that Hazard pay is not to much to ask, we are at risk from so much during even the normal operation of our jobs and now with this new crisis our health and our families healths are at risk by merely doing our jobs
Petition to Megan Brennan, USPS
Hazard pay for all USPS EMPLOYEES!!
As we get deeper and deeper into this Coronavirus epidemic postal employees are being forced to work and do overtime upwards of 12 hours a day. As of this present time there have been Upwards of more than 40 confirmed cases of coronavirus with-in the United States Postal Service. From dealing with the day-to-day struggles of rain, sleet snow, hail or no AC in postal vehicles limited heating in postal vehicles no innovations in carriers delivery methods no innovations in protection clothing or any other areas of the post office. Megan Brennan USPS CEO hasn’t sent any supplies such as had sanitizer or mask for employees protection, she made a very vague statement which basically read her employees should follow CDC guidelines. Blood, sweat, and tears postal employees carrier this company on their backs day in and day out at the expense of time with our families, wear and tear on our bodies, mental and emotional abuse from USPS management. We are demanding hazard pay for working during Coronavirus considering we are essential during this epidemic we should at be paid for it. The union is no help to employees during this at all they should be fighting for this hazard pay or threatening for another shutdown. We have to get louder post office!! Hopefully this is an outlet to make change happen.
Petition to Steve Sisolak
Expand Unemployment Insurance Eligibility for Education Support Professionals
We need your help to get Governor Sisolak to broaden the unemployment insurance eligibility so that Education Support Professionals can receive unemployment insurance benefits in the summer months. As you may know, 9-month and 10-month Education Support Professionals are not eligible to receive unemployment benefits after the school year has ended. Per Nevada law (NRS 612.434), if you are not working because the school year has ended and you have a "reasonable assurance” to return when the next year begins, such employees are not considered “unemployed” for purposes of claiming unemployment insurance. As such, many Education Support Professionals seek employment opportunities during these months. Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, job opportunities in the summer months are likely to be extremely limited, and we need help from Governor Sisolak Please submit this petition to Governor Sisolak. We need his help and he is the only one who can broaden the unemployment insurance eligibility for Education Support Professionals.

Protect Truckers Through Covid 19
Truckers are working hard to haul the goods the American people need. It is a travesty that Covid 19 legislation is grossly inadequate in addressing the unique needs of the long haul driver. Long haulers are away from home far more often than they are at home. If a driver becomes ill with Covid 19, it is far more likely it will happen on the road. They are especially vulnerable, due to their dependence on truck stops, where they encounter the traveling public frequently. Additionally, they are in and out of shippers and receivers and rest areas regularly. This situation is declining, as rest areas and shippers/receivers are increasingly closing restrooms and instead installing Kybos. At this time there is still no official guidance, nor assistance, for the long haul driver. If drivers get sick, your shelves go bare. Our nation's drivers should not have to risk financial catastrophe for themselves and their families, in addition to their increased risk of illness, for absolutely no compensation*, nor assistance, in the event they fall ill or test positive. A minimum of 3 issues need addressed immediately. 1. Establishment of a hotline for drivers where they can receive guidance on what to do and where to go if they become ill when on the road. Due to the nature of their vehicle, up to 70 foot long and 80,000 pounds, they will likely require facilitation in regard to getting them to a clinic or hospital and later, possibly, to a motel or appropriate facility. 2. Drivers who become ill while in the course of their duties, who were forced to quarantine in a motel or other facility away from home, should be reimbursed 100% of all expenses for food, supply delivery and lodging. If a family member must travel to the truck driver, those travel expenses should be fully reimbursed. 3. Drivers who become ill in the course of their duties should be entitled to sick pay, commensurate with their average daily earnings, until such time as they are medically cleared to return to work. Additionally, a driver who tests positive, whether ill or not, but who is required to be quarantined, should also be entitled to sick pay. This should apply to all drivers, no matter the number of employees their carrier employs, including owner operators. (edited for clarity 4/2/20) Considering the disgusting pet pork projects allowed to pass, this protection for the American truck driver should not even be in question. This petition does not ask for hazard pay, raises or bonuses - it asks only for protection. Truckers, friends and their families are millions strong and we're watching. Do the right thing. Thank you to all those who sign in support the American truck driver. We deeply appreciate you. *ETA, 4/2/2020: Please see the 2nd update for more information about why the legislation passed thus far does not adequately provide sufficient protections for ALL truckers. IMPORTANT UPDATE! 4/7/2020: Announced today is a proposal for hazard pay for essentials, including truck drivers. Although hazard pay is not what was asked for in this petition, this is a side-step in a direction that might address what we ARE asking for - sick pay & reimbursements for Covid related issues. There's never been a more important time to reach out to your lawmakers and share, share, share. One part of the statement that is a little worrisome says, "The Heroes Fund would provide funding directly to eligible employers so they could then distribute the premium payments." Who is an eligible employer? The end goal of this petition is that ALL truckers are covered for illness. Keep your eye on this! Hazard Pay for Essentials

Armer Law; They take care of us. We need to take care of them.
Santa Rosa Police Detective Marylou Armer was denied COVID19 testing twice before she went into the emergency room, was put into a coma and died alone. Armer spent two weeks with a fever, aching body and shortness of breath. Armer asked twice to be tested for COVID-19. Armer was denied by Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo Medical Center. She was not considered vulnerable because of her age and no underlying medical conditions. Armer was finally cleared to be tested on March 23, when her husband brought her to the emergency room. She was sedated, intubated, and placed in a medically induced coma. She died on March 31. Armer was with the Santa Rosa Police Department for 20 years and her death is devastating to all who worked with her to help victims of crimes that include domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse and elder abuse. But this is not an isolated incident. There have been several first responder deaths as a result of COVID-19 in the past few weeks – and there will be more. To date more than 20 law enforcement personnel alone, as well as nurses, doctors and firefighters have died from COVID 19. Athletes and Celebrities, and those with money at their disposal have been getting tested when they have no symptoms. Marylou knew something was wrong and was denied access to healthcare that may have saved her life. "Armer Law" would allow that during any epidemic or pandemic, first responders which include but are not limited to; law enforcement, social workers, healthcare, and EMS workers, can NOT be denied testing, and should automatically be approved at the first sign of symptoms. They are on the front lines, entering people’s homes and having to make physical contact with the public, and they have the highest risk of exposure. Also provided would be regular, continued testing if necessary, and treatment covered by worker’s compensation, not sick leave. This death was preventable. Our first responders take care of us, it is time to take care of them.
Petition to Secretary of Transportation, Congress
Truckers are stepping up for America. Now, it's time for America to step up for truckers.
Over the past month, truckers have stepped up for America to ensure the supply chain stays intact during the 2020 COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. They have done so at great personal effort, sacrifice and risk. American citizens, including teenagers and police officers, have, in turn, responded to truckers' plight and have tried to help truckers find food on the road to keep the deliveries coming. The government could be doing so much more --from providing testing locations that accommodate big rig trucks... to distributing masks... to dealing with Mega-brokers who are exploiting independent truckers during this difficult time and causing freight rates to drastically fall. We, the undersigned Americans, support America's 3.5 million truckers. We hereby petition the Secretary of Transportation to stand down on current public policy plans to replace truckers when this crisis is over by ushering in driverless trucks. That is not the way to #ThankATrucker after all truckers have done for America. We believe this planned obsolescence will not only eliminate driver jobs but will endanger the motoring public. We contend you cannot replace human judgment on the road, which is grounded in empathy, with artificial intelligence and autonomous machines. We also call for Congress to replace the current Federal motor carrier regulatory model. For FY 2019, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requested a $665.80 million budget from Congress, which included $284 million for Motor Carrier Safety Operations and Programs and $381.80 million for Motor Carrier Safety Grants. Over the past 20 years, this agency has been allocated over $5 billion for internal operations. Here is what American taxpayers have gotten in recent years for their money: *The 2018 Large Truck Occupant Highway Fatality Rate is at a 30-year high in the immediate aftermath of the onset of Electronic Logging Devices. Because truckers are regulated by the clock and paid by the mile Big Trucking induces truckers to speed to maximize productivity. Drivers should be paid a base salary plus performance incentives so they are not working under stress to avoid starvation. *When you do the math, 2.4 occupants of large trucks died every single day in 2018. *In 2017, 4,889 large trucks and buses were involved in fatal crashes, a 9-percent increase from 2016 (this has now been skewed to lower the percentage to 4.9% by removing certain vehicles, which, when combined with trailers still constitute a commercial motor vehicle over 10,000 lbs).** *The number of large trucks and buses in fatal crashes has increased by 42 percent from its low of 3,432 in 2009.** *From 2016 to 2017, large truck and bus fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled by all motor vehicles increased by 6.8 percent, from 0.146 to 0.156.** *There was a 40-percent increase in the number of fatal crashes involving large trucks or buses between 2009 and 2017. ** *From 2016 to 2017, the number of fatal crashes involving large trucks or buses increased by 8 percent.** *The number of injury crashes involving large trucks or buses increased 62% from 2009 to 2015.** *From 2016 to 2017, according to NHTSA's CRSS data, large truck and bus injury crashes increased 4 percent (from 112,000 in 2016 to 116,000 in 2017).** *From 2016 to 2017 the number of large trucks involved in fatal crashes increased 10 percent, from 4,251 to 4,657, and the large truck involvement rate (large trucks involved in fatal crashes per 100 million miles traveled by large trucks) increased 6 percent, from 1.48 to 1.56. The number of large trucks involved in injury crashes increased by 5 percent, from 102,000 to 107,000. The number of large trucks involved in property damage only crashes increased by 3 percent, from 351,000 to 363,000. The number of buses involved in fatal crashes decreased from 234 to 232, a decrease a mere 1 percent.** **SOURCE: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/sites/fmcsa.dot.gov/files/docs/safety/data-and-statistics/461861/ltcbf-2017-final-5-6-2019.pdf We now call on Congress to #SaveTruckers and specifically provide an economic stimulus package to #SaveSmallBusinessTruckers who are now on the verge of going out-of-business. Without same, America's supply chain will suffer a terrible capacity crisis when manufacturing spontaneously returns to full force and there are no longer sufficient trucks to service our supply needs. Please save America's truckers from extinction and #MakeTheRoadsSafeAgain. MEDIA CONTACT: James@truckers.com
Petition to People of the State of California
Impeach Governor Gavin Newsom
Impeach Governor Gavin Newsom for his neglect to fix the roads of California, for his mishandling of the Coronavirus, for his tyranny of closing of businesses all across the State of California, and for his lies to the People of the State of California through his many unnecessary and childishly asinine media appearances, where he tough talks a TV and forgets that there are actual free—thinking humans on the other side of the screen watching him forcefully express his White Privilege over the citizens that are depending on him to protect their businesses and uphold his oath he took when he was granted a seat in office by his familial relative, Nancy Pelosi, and her overgrown super PAC. California Governor Gavin Newsom is lying about the Coronavirus. The disease not only doesn't exist, but he's stabbing people with a q-tip and placing victims on ventilators which spread disease and viruses down your esophagus and this can be very deadly to someone with a weak immune system, no matter their age. The amounts of people sacrificing their lives for something that doesn't exist is far too many. The hospitals are involved in the biggest scam ever where they're profiting up to 3x per patient, especially when said patient(s) received the unsanitary practice of intubation from their physician. The profits could also include insurance scams as well. If we allow this to go on any further, we're only going to turn into New York, where Governor Cuomo has sacrificed so many people that they're keeping dead bodies in unrefrigerated uhauls, to where local funeral homes and crematoriums can't keep up. Is that what you want for the State of California? To keep collecting the corrupt State crooks money at the cost of real human lives? They've promised us a paycheck to shut our mouths and keep us inside. Well, I say enough is enough of this dumpster fire. We must evict Gavin Newsom from Politics and charge him for his crimes of fraud on the American people. A convicted federal felon donated more than four million dollars to influence California politics and the money was accepted by California Governor Gavin Newsom, the vast majority of members of the state legislature, and both major political parties. That felon is PG&E. Newsome accepted $208,000 from PG&E. PG&E influences our politics despite felony convictions and being blamed for starting fires that killed 107 people. While the wildfires across California were raging there's also speculation that human trafficking kidnapping was taking place. I can't actually believe the level of commitment to exercise the authoritarian overreach of this coward in office, Gavin Newsom, and the others who are continuing to carry the political extortion torch in the ways they're choosing to do. Seems the petition for his impeachment is giving this coward in office a whole different tone about enforcing a ridiculous "stay at home order." Governor Gavin Newsom would rather continue to lie to the people of California. He says he's motivated by your health, however, the fact of the matter is clear that his motivation truly lies within his political overreach in an attempt to silence my presidential campaign, and I do not find this cute, funny, nor even acceptable at all. This is an act of treason like never seen before, and affirmative action is and will continue to be taken, and the start of the impeachment petition for his removal from office is by far the least of any incumbent politicians' worries that care to continue to keep up the charades of a fairy tale virus that I'm sure doesn't even exist. Gavin has the audacity to suggest that he's going to enforce "community surveillance," however, I suggest that Gavin minds the business that is his job of fixing the roads & similar responsibilities. Gavin, you and your constituents might want to choose a different target. The people of California are through with your game of charades and now the time has come to show your cards. Turns out that the tides are turning against you, Newsom, you're bluffing. The games up. Do you agree, or are you just going to sit there staring in disgust? Are you really going to allow a greased politician to control us using such wild methods of communism and socialism? Are you gonna just sit there and allow him to exercise authoritarian overreach and continue to grossly neglect not only the sacredness of a human life, but also the roads we drive our cars we're paying so much money to have on? Or are you going to show him what's up and let him and the rest of the incumbent politicians know that we're not playing around about our freedoms and sign this petition?
Petition to City Council Members
Hazard pay for front-line city personnel (Columbus, Georgia).
To Whom It May Concern, Recently, the city of Atlanta (Georgia) implemented a hazard pay policy for front-line city employees; as we all face this time of uncertainty. With the administrative order, "new hazard pay policy applies to almost 5,400 front-line staffers including: sworn public safety positions and civilians performing critical watershed, aviation, solid waste, transportation, inspection, parks, and recreation, and other frontline functions." https://www.cbs46.com/news/city-of-atlanta-front-line-worker-to-receive-hazard-pay/article_323526fe-735a-11ea-8867-3fa7290a02b5.html https://www.ajc.com/news/breaking-news/atlanta-mayor-orders-extra-500-per-month-city-front-line-workers/C6qHb1brtuBTlmFxGE3gfI/ Please, consider the same for city workers in Columbus. Such an imperative measure, may substantially aid in improving worker morale during the current (unprecedented) COVID-19 global pandemic. Very respectfully, Citizens of Columbus (Georgia) and Friends.
