Petition to Jacinda Ardern, James Shaw, Mark Mitchell
Save our animals, let's ban plastic bags in New Zealand
Currently, one New Zealander uses an estimated average of 6.75 bags a week. That's 351 bags a year per New Zealander. This is enough plastic to carpet a double garage 1.6 times. New Zealanders only use plastic bags for a minimal 10-15 minutes, whereas it takes up to 1000 years for a plastic bag to decompose in a landfill. Countries such as China, Italy, France and The Netherlands have already made a stop to the use of plastic bags. New Zealand currently has no law that bans plastic bags. This law legalising plastic bags must be changed due to the overuse of plastic in our country. This is an issue because plastic waste is one of the many types of waste that takes an incredibly long time to decompose (up to 1000 years to be exact). This is a big issue when it comes to New Zealand as we are known for being clean and environmentally friendly. However, the large amount of plastic used in our country indicates that our country will not always hold this positive reputation. Plastic bags are not only bad for the land but also for the wildlife. By getting rid of plastic, our environment will become cleaner and our animals will have a higher chance of survival. By signing this petition, you will be showing that you also believe that New Zealand should put an end to plastic bags. (All signatures will remain anonymous).
Petition to Wombat Awareness Organisation
Save the Twin Creek Wind Farm Wombats
We all love renewable energy but what if it came at the cost of a valuable ecosystem? The proposed site for Twin Creek Wind Farm in the Barossa Hills is exactly that! The chosen site is the largest contiguous patch of native grassland in the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges NRM region and is home to the most significant population of Endangered Pygmy Blue-tongue Lizards (PBTL) and the near Threatened Southern Hairy-nosed wombat (IUCN), the local NRM has them listed as an Endangered species. The development includes 51 huge wind turbines, 40 kilometers of roads which are 12 to 15 meters wide and 50 kilometers of 5 meter wide trenching some of which part of goes right over the top of Wombat and PBTL habitat. There was very little mention of wombats in the Development Application and no consideration has been given to the impacts the wind farm will impose. Wombats will have to be killed for this development and do they plan to do this quietly? We want to help these animals! We are asking for the Twin Creek Wind Farm to be relocated to a more suitable location and for the proposed site to be purchased by the State Government for conservation purposes. Please help us make this happen!

Petition to The Hon. Paul Toole, MP.
NSW taxpayer dollars used to fund animal cruelty.
TWO years after banning the sport over animal welfare concerns, the NSW Government has given a massive handout to greyhound racing. NSW Minister for Racing Paul Toole put forward a media release on July 31st announcing that NSW will host a greyhound racing event known as the 'Million Dollar Chase' during October. It's known as the "biggest and richest" greyhound event worldwide featuring $1.7 million in prize money (for the owner, not the doggo). The NSW Government will be chipping in $500,000 of that $1.7 million. The NSW Govt support of this event comes less than a month after a greyhound mass grave was discovered on a greyhound trainers property in Western Sydney. Greyhound racing was originally banned in NSW in 2016 calling the sport’s association with animal cruelty and abuse “abhorrent”. The government backflipped on said ban only a few months after passing it, following pressure from the racing industry, but they’ve gone a step further now in actively funding the sport with taxpayers’ money. In just the last two weeks, there have been seven deaths and 91 injuries on racing tracks. This is all recorded on the stewards reports produced by the racing industry. Your tax dollars are propping this gambling industry, rife with animal cruelty. Let Mr Toole know you do not support this!
Petition to Joy Hentschke
We the undersigned wish to see Streaky Bay Council laws on Volunteer Cat Traps change.
At the moment Volunteer Cat Trapping is welcomed by the District Council of Streaky Bay, as Feral Cats have been always been & continue to be a problem for this town. Unfortunately though, not everyone seems to be doing the right thing as suggested by Council & many Pet Cats are mysteriously disappearing. The Council laws need to be looked at, so that Pet Cats & their owners are protected. Cat trapping needs to be undertaken ONLY by Council Officers, so that it's Feral Cats being caught & euthanised properly, NOT family pets, by Community members hiring a trap to deal with a problem Pet in their area. It is far too easy to trap a neighboring cat & dispose of it, without anyone ever knowing. Many people in Streaky Bay have had Pet Cats mysteriously disappear & some people have stories about how they are fully aware of who disposed of their pet after trapping it in a Volunteer Cat trap (easily available from Council) or from many sites on the internet. We would like The District Council of Streaky Bay of SA to meet & discuss making changes to the hiring of Cat traps to members of the Community within the town. We would like the following changes to be made: Volunteer Cat Trapping to STOP within the inner residential part of Streaky Bay. That descision be made very clear to Community members & a fine put in place for ignoring the new Bi-Law. We require our local Council to protect Pet owners in the Community by making these changes.

Petition to RSPCA NSW, NSW Police
RSPCA NSW: Save these hens from Lakesland farm
Skinny, starving and dying. Overcrowded. Covered in their own feces. Dead and rotting carcasses everywhere. Pecking desperately at empty food and water dispensers. This is what a passer-by found after coming across hens roaming lost near a farm in Lakesland, NSW. Since then undercover footage has been released and it confirmed everything she had already seen. Shawn Stone - who runs this cage-free egg farm - clearly shouldn’t have any animals under his care, certainly not thousands of hens. Despite the RSPCA first being notified of the situation on the 10th of June, and being sent the shocking footage of the hens starving and dying on the 20th of June, so far not a single hen has been rescued from the property. Not only is this a clear case of animal cruelty and negligence, it has also shocked the Australian public who trust and rely upon the RSPCA to protect vulnerable animals. We are calling on the RSPCA NSW to: Charge Shawn Stone for animal cruelty Ban Shawn Stone from owning any animals Rescue and rehome all hens Australians will not tolerate animal cruelty on live export ships and we certainly won’t tolerate animal cruelty in our own backyard.
Petition to Murray Bridge Council and Minister Corey Wingard
Stop the 150 dog greyhound racing facility at Monarto South
We urge the Murray Bridge Council to revoke it's decision to create an intensive 150 dog greyhound racing breeding facility at Monarto South. Profit should never be above animal welfare. The large majority of the public are against this barbaric "sport". Greyhounds are bred purely for financial gain and when no longer to be of use are disposed of. This is either by means of surrendering to our already struggling rescue shelters, abandoned and therefore left to starve, or they are killed. When killed this is often as young as 2-3 years old and not carried out by a Veterinarian. We have only just this week in Australia seen the results of Greyhound racing by the media coverage of the Greyhounds found in appalling physical states in filthy environments and other greyhounds buried together in a shallow grave. This industry has few supporters left as more light is shed on how appalling the industry really is. We urge you to choose the welfare of Greyhounds over any form of profit and revoke the decision to build this 150 greyhound racing facility at Monarto South.
