A transnational and european gestion of the health crisis

The recent call from hospitals and health professional published in Le Monde and in Die Zeit (show link) terribly announced that in a few days or weeks (only for less touched areas) the hospitals won't have enough medicine to cure the patients with Covid-19,  won't have enough medical material, masks, respiratory machines ... Borders are closed and people are in quarantine in Europe but some hospitals are drowning under sick, there is not enough room for everyone, doctors and the health personal is getting sick because of the lack of materials.  No country has the infrastructures in order to furnish enough medicine and material. We need curare, propofol, midazolam, morphine and all those substance need time in order to be created. But we don't have this time ! People are dying because countries have locked down their frontiers. We see trains transporting people to another region while the hospital just across the border and closer has still beds left. European citizens deserve a solution that meets their needs, besides pure economic prosperity. If there is some cooperation, we ask for more, we ask for solidarity and to finally show the unity of European member states at this point of the crisis. The letter published urges government  to cooperate, to leave borders open in order to exchange medicine and to help the hospitals which are lacking vital resources. This question is independent of the monetary price; this question concerns our fundamental European values.  We ask for :1) the founding of a european reserve of medicaments which can be sent directly to the hospitals which need it the most during the Corona pandemic. Furthermore the European Union should found a strategic reserve of medicaments for coming pandemics and shortcuts of supply.  2) the founding of a european center of medical research. Each member state would financially contribute and send scientist in order to cooperate in the search of a vaccine or a way to cure people. This comes with a raising of the european research found.  3) a european mechanism of pandemics gestion. This includes a cooperation between every hospital in the European Union, so each sick person would be able to go directly to the closest hospital despite the country they are from or the borders. 4) the permanent financing of crossborder cooperation to improve and complete a European and supportive health network. In this way, planning security is guaranteed and the cooperations can establish themselves. The health of europeans shouldn't be put in danger only because of national will. The EU was created to have a space of solidarity and now is the time when we need it the most ! Because despite the borders, each country is touched and has the responsibility to help others. So the EU is becoming a Union for and by the citizen.

Increase the Erasmus+ budget by ten times

Why do we need a more ambitious Erasmus+ programme? This now 30 year old scheme has changed the lives of millions of people - educators, students, pupils, school heads, adults, researchers, VET providers, teachers, parents, volunteers, young people and youth workers. It provides excellent learning and cooperation opportunities, allowing people to broaden their horizons and develop new skills through a period of mobility abroad. Crucially, it also contributes to the modernisation of our education systems by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices among Member States and their respective institutions. During the Summit marking the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaty, political leaders mentioned Erasmus as the EU’s biggest achievement in changing the lives of 9 million Europeans. However, this achievement has touched only a very limited section of the EU’s population. Only 4 million people (around 0.8% of EU citizens) are expected to benefit from Erasmus+ in the 2014-2020 period. Indeed, the funding for the programme amounts to only 1,4% of the overall EU budget for this period. Is this really enough for the EU’s most successful programme? The Erasmusx10 Campaign has been launched by the Lifelong Learning Platform, European Youth Forum and EURODESK in order to call for a more ambitious programme by increasing Erasmus+ budget of ten times as negotiations begin for the next generation of EU programmes post-2020. This claim has been echoed by several political leaders including the President of the European Commission who, when speaking about the programme’s number of participants reaching 9 million people, called for us to be ‘at least nine times as ambitious’. This would send a strong political message to EU citizens by putting at the forefront the need to build stronger ties between them and to foster a common European identity. It would also allow more individuals to benefit from a mobility experience, therefore improving their life prospects with higher employability chances and stronger social and civic participation. The campaign is supported by thousands of civil society organisations representing the different beneficiaries and by policy makers across Europe, join us and ask for a genuine investment in Erasmus+: sign the petition, share it within your networks and help us make a difference! Global Appeal! British court has given the verdict!! UK Government lift the ban on LTTE

https://www.einpresswire.com/article/529019294/tgte-wins-its-appeal-against-ltte-terrorism-ban By signing this I am requesting the Home Sectary and Prime Minister of UK to accept the court verdict and lift the ban on LTTE. This will clearly allow Tamils to express their views with confidence and uphold the freedom of speech which  we believe in as free people. Tamils from the Island of Sri Lanka faces Genocide by Sr Lankan Government similar to the suffering under Apartheid South Africa. War crimes and crime against humanity continues to be acted upon the Tamils by a Racist regime who were directly involved in many massacres. The people of the Island and the region deserves permanent  peace for that the peace must come with justice. your signature will push the UK Government to use its good officials to make this reality and lifting of the ban on LTTE will give the Tamil community to lobby towards the International community including UK.
