Stella Creasy MP is being forced to choose between being a mum, or being an MP due to outdated systems which do not recognise that MPs need parental leave too. In any other job this would be illegal.The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) makes no provision for any paid cover for what MPs do outside the parliamentary chamber: the campaigning, constituency casework and municipal work. This is about 80% of the work MPs do. If IPSA will not release these funds then MPs are either forced to return to work very quickly after giving birth, or their constituents miss out on representation. This was the case for Tulip Siddiq MP who had to return to doing casework three days after a C-section.Giving birth can be a traumatic experience for a woman's body and becoming a parent is a transformational and an exhausting adventure. Forcing female MPs to go back to work so quickly could have a negative impact on their mental and physical health and is a barbaric way to treat our female leaders. MPs need time to recover and time to bond with their new child. If we can't get this right within Parliament, how can we get this right for parents elsewhere?I founded the movement Pregnant then Screwed to put an end to the discrimination pregnant women and new mums face in the workplace. I was being discriminated against myself - I was sacked by my employer when I was 4 months pregnant.
Together we are demanding that Marcial Boo, the Chief Executive of IPSA, create a budget for parental leave to ensure that MPs can take 6 months leave when they have a baby. This would bring MPs parental leave in line with their colleagues in the civil service.Thanks for your supportRead more

Hi, I am creating this petition as someone who relies on buses every day to get to and from work. Last February I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and unfortunately, like many other epileptics, I still have frequent seizures, meaning I cannot return to driving unless I have been a year seizure-free. Many epileptics never have a hope of driving again. I was happy to find out I was eligible for a Disabled persons bus pass as I believed it would save me a lot of money in the meantime - but quickly found out the pass is only valid between 9.30 am - 11 pm. Most to all jobs usually begin at around 8/9 am and for me, I get on the bus before 8 am to be on time. In the past year and a half, I have spent over £1,600 on just these morning buses.
Although I am extremely grateful to be able to use the bus and get home with no charge - I can’t imagine the number of people who also deal with disabilities that would much rather drive if they could and avoid spending all this extra money on getting to work in peak hours. Over 1 in 5 people in the UK are disabled. In July 2021, Gov UK released a segment titled ‘Jobs/Transport: National Disability Strategy explained’, which outlined the ways in which they wanted the world of work more inclusive & accessible and improving the accessibility and experience of everyday journeys. Essentially encouraging those who still are able & want to work with disabilities - but what’s the point of offering bus passes that aren’t even valid to save any money? I applied for my bus pass through Gloucestershire County Council & believe they are able to make this change so that the passes are available during peak hours and not just 9.30 am onwards. Petition to Cumberland County Animal Control
Cumberland County Animal Control is considering an adoption ban that would affect Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chow Chows, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pitbulls, Mastiffs, Akitas, Huskies, or any mix of these breeds.
Although Dr. John Lauby, Animal Control director, has stressed lately that it is a limitation of breed-specific adoptions rather than a ban, the proposal goes on to say that a county resident would not be allowed to adopt one of these breeds.
Their reason for this proposal is they do not want to be held liable for these breeds and the possible problems with them after adoption from the shelter.
We need to let them know that this is not the answer.
These dogs will be held for the mandatory 72 hours and then will be killed, THEY WILL NOT BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO BE ADOPTED.

Problem:
Increased child rapes in recent times. It's a psychological issue and as a society, we all are contributing towards it through the commercialization of women and a totally irrelevant failed educational system.
Solution:
We can fight this in two fold 1. A longterm solution: focusing on individual awareness and sensitization which should start from childhood at home and school. Make everyone understand the trauma of the victim/family etc. It will take another 10 to 15 years to give results if we start it now. Snehahriday foundation is in the process towards it.
So we are focusing on 2. short-term solution based on the fear that prevents from doing such heinous crime. Now our judicial system is failing to create such fear as the victims get enough time to find the loopholes and escape from the judiciary.
There should be a strong law especially for raping kids below 14 years of age should get a death penalty within 6 months of conviction, we calling it Kathua law based on the recent mishappening. We understand that killing anyone is not a solution to any problem, however, if we look at recent past many innocents kids are prey to such heinous crimes. It's not acceptable to let our innocent kids live in such vulnerable cruel society. So there should be a strong law, we suggest to amend the existing POCSO act for this.
Every time after each incident crying for justice won't help us in any way.
So request everyone to sign this petition for the sake of our kids. we will take this to our President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of India to bring this law into reality.
