Re-establish climate change education on the EPA website

Prior to President Trump and the appointment of Scott Pruitt as EPA Administrator, there was a entire page on the EPA website dedicated to climate change education. Many students, teachers and parents across the country used the page to learn about climate change and to keep abreast of new scientific data and information. During the Trump Administration, the link to the education site was removed from the EPA web page "for updating" and was never restored (old link here - climate change) In the wake of the devastation caused by the recent Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Harvey, it is more critical than ever, to educate children, communities and families on the impact of global warming and how we can reduce our carbon footprint.  Please TAKE ACTION and SIGN THIS PETITION to get the climate change link back up on the EPA website!

    Brexit Re-referendum

48.1% of us said no to Brexit so let's call upon our Government to have another referendum. In nearly 7 months we have already seen the devastation that decision has had on our economy, our attitudes to other cultures and on our trade deals so if this petititon gets enough support we can show the government that we want another referendum in which more than that 48.1% of us will show we want to remain in the EU- let's make our voices heard!

    Petition to Ubisoft

    Re-list Driver: San Francisco!

Reflections' Driver: San Francisco is one of the most interesting, risky, special games ever published. Unfortunately, the game has been out of print for years, and alarmingly, it disappeared from digital storefronts back in 2016. Nobody knows why, but most suspect it's for licensing reasons.   We, the undersigned, humbly request that Ubisoft do the due diligence necessary to put this masterpiece back on sale on its original digital storefronts - namely: UPlay, Steam, the Xbox Marketplace and the PlayStation Store. (The game is even backwards-compatible on Xbox One, so there's a whole audience of Xbox One owners who could access the game if it was put back on sale!)

    Petition to LaPorte High School

Re-establish early release everyday except Wednesday.

The High School wants to cancel the early release program for most days of the week, but this program has helped students have time to relax after school and gave them time to have food before sports, work, or other similar events. Taking this away will only cause students further stress on top of those such as school, SATs, work, and sports.

    Petition to 10,000

    Re-open the Kendrick Johnson Case.

Kendrick Johnson was a 17 year old, African American who’s body was found rolled up upside down in a gym mat. Although, the parents of Kendrick Johnson suspected that his death was a cover up, and not an accident. Kendrick Johnson’s body was not found until a full day later, Kendrick had left his belongings in the mat because he did not want to pay for a locker, this was something that was common for other students as well. The black and white gym shoe Kendrick had been reaching for was lying on top of a pool of blood, but the shoe did not have any blood on itself. The blood was tested by investigators and was not Kendricks blood they had stated that the blood had been there for a while, there was also traces of blood by the wall near by. The death was not an accident, a private pathologist was hired to carry out a second autopsy, Kendrick suffered a hemorrhaging on the right side of his neck, this would indicate he had died from blunt force trauma. This was a brief summary of the Kendrick Johnson case, with all that is going on right now, no justice has been served for him sign the petition to get this case solved!

    RE-OPENING OF SCHOOLS & COLLEGES

It is quite disheartening that the schools have again been closed in respect to the orders issued by Punjab Government. Exams are scheduled in March-2022 and students need physical classes to learn and understand the concepts better. The public transport is seen on roads running with full capacity, markets, theatres, gyms are open alongside political gatherings are taking place frequently. Why only schools are closed? World Bank experts state that there is no relation between opening of schools and spread of COVID among children. Schools are the safest place for children to be safe from Covid or else we keep moving outdoors for various activities with our family. Students are getting deprived of quality education and the loss is irreplacable. Through this Petition we are requesting to open the schools immediately to help students stay safe and continue their learning.

Establish Permanent SC, ST & OBC Committees in IITs

Dalit, Bahujan, and Adivasi (DBA) students and faculty are routinely discriminated against by upper castes in all the IITs and other premier institutes in the country. Most of their experiences of caste-based discrimination go unreported, or unresolved if reported, because of lack of institutional support and empathy. In light of the caste-based discrimination at IIT Kharagpur, where Professor Seema Singh called DBA students "bloody bastards", and the resignation of Professor Vipin P. Veetil because of caste-based discrimination at IIT Madras, we need joint, permanent SC, ST, and OBC committees to be established in each of the IITs. We need these committees implement UGC guidelines to protect the welfare of DBA students and faculty, and ensure the following: 1. The committee should consist of DBA professors, who are sensitive to CBD. It should be headed by a Chief Liaison Officer, from the DBA community. The contact details (email and mobile) of committee members should be made available on the institute website. 2. The committee should appoint DBA student representatives from each department and year who will amplify and follow-up on student complaints. 3. The committee should create an online portal where DBA students and faculty can make complaints regarding CBD perpetrated by upper caste faculty and students. The complaints should be resolved within a specific time frame (like 30 days). 4. The committee should provide a strict procedure of resolving the complaints, such as counselling, suspension, or termination of the offender.  5. The committee should ensure mandatory caste-sensitization workshops for all students and faculty, outlining the prohibition of casteist slurs (such as 'chamaar', 'bhangi' or 'shudra'), revealing someone's caste identity, abusive language and harassment, and discrimination through institutional protocol. It should outline the procedure for reporting CBD on campus, whether experienced or witnessed.  6. The committee should ensure that all departments are following the institute's reservation policy in faculty hiring and student entry. 7. The committee should create a mechanism (like reimbursement) for individual therapy and counselling for aggrieved DBA students and faculty who have undergone harassment.  8. The committee should meet at regular intervals, and give monthly reports to the Chairman, Director, and Deans. 9. An annual report of the committee should be published by the institute.
