    Petition to Jagex Games Studios

Add Pre-EoC Game Servers Back into Runescape

The Evolution of Combat update has had negative implications on the playerbase of Runescape.  Mark Gerhard, CEO of Jagex has publically acknowledged that the update was rushed and did not have adequate feedback to have been implemented so soon.  Regardless, now  that we have experienced a number of months with the update, it is safe to say that discontent for it has well surpassed the 50% mark. Many people have started to quit and the disgruntled masses are continuing to do so everyday.  We the players are petitioning Jagex to restore a few Old Game servers to the game.  By doing so, Runescape will see the return of a community that was once thriving.  We are not asking for the full removal of the Evolution of Combat, but what we are asking for is  to be given the choice to play either of the two versions of the game.   Support for this idea is unprecedented.  It is evident in the fact that so many people have taken to private servers in a desperate attempt to relive the old game experience.  2006Scape on its own had almost 500,000 people registered to play before it was taken down.  This number far exceeds the concurent player base of Runescape itself.  Thousands of players who have disembarked from the game since the EoC would be willing to rejoin and pay premium membership fees in order to play on an old game server. This would have no negative ramifications; the people who enjoy playing the EoC more could continue to do so, while the tens of thousands who felt this game-changing update was forced upon them, would be given the option play the game they know and love.

Petition to Cellphone companies, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives

Have the national suicide lifeline pre-programmed on all cellphones; just like 911.

Suicide rates have been on the increase since 1999.  Suicide rates have increase in every state and as a result almost 45,000 people died by suicide in 2016 according to the CDC.  What we will not know is if those people had the opportunity to speak to someone immediately.  The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has a number where anyone can call when one is in distress but, what if you don’t know the 800 number? What if your situation will prevent you from searching the number? I am proposing that a three digit number like 911 be created and become a default number on all cellphones. Perhaps, a number that is easy to remember and everyone get to know it. Hopefully in that manner, instead for searching or trying to remember the number, one picks up a phone, dials for help and the only difference is that when the number is dialed, a person is immediately connected to someone that is prepared to listen not someone asking “what is your emergency”.

COVID-19: Award Predicted Grades to A-Level Students (Including Pre-U and IB)

Thanks to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, students across the world have never been more vulnerable in terms of their attainment of qualifications and their physical health. The United Kingdom has witnessed an exponential increase in the cases of COVID-19, and as such the foreclosure of schools is not only a possibility but an inevitability in order to ensure the safety of students. The total number of cases in the UK stands at 1391 (16/3/20) with a speculative figure of 10,000 unidentified cases. These numbers are increasing at an alarming rate, demonstrating the virus' ability to infect school communities, putting students at risk at the most important time of their academic careers prior to university. Within the UK, the impact of COVID-19 is predicted to reach its peak in the period of the months May to June, the A-Level exam period. The contingency date for all exams to be completed by is the 24th of June. Exams cannot take place after this period, especially considering the substantial amount of time it takes for A-Levels to be graded and the fact universities require grades for candidate admissions in September. With regard to this, it is also clear A-Level examinations cannot take place as usual. Once schools close, students will not have the final necessary teaching to ensure the extrapolation of their full potential. Alongside this, due to the virus' ability to spread in close confinement, examination centres are high-risk locations given the close proximity of candidates, sitting within the one metre distance that the virus is able to travel. A lot of students, statistically, will have contracted the virus entering the exam period and will be unable to revise effectively, negatively impacting their ability to perform in the exam. On top of this, considering the virus will be at its peak during this exam period, there will be an undeniably large proportion of students taking the exam who will be carrying COVID-19 as they sit their paper(s). On behalf of the student body, we find that the uncertainty surrounding the taking of exams is perhaps just as terrifying as the virus itself. Not only does this impact the mental health of students; motivation is dwindling as a result of this key period of revision being undermined by the prospect of exam postponement/cancellation. If it is the case that exams are shortened and computerised, then 12% of students (circa 30,000) will be unable to complete the assessment due to a lack of accessibility to internet or an actual device, whilst also being at a disadvantage due to being unable to access online resources from home. Exams must be a standardised process, taken in similar environments so the data gathered from them can be a fair reflection of ability within the context of the nation. As such, we require an absolute and definitive answer. This answer simply cannot be that A-Levels will take place, as that cannot be guaranteed. Instead, the only possible solution that can achieve any degree of certitude and fair, consistent assessment of candidates is that A-level written examinations will be cancelled. Instead students will be rewarded a grade based on their predictions, taking into account their quality of work throughout their A-Level course, and any available coursework marks that can inform their quality as a candidate. Predicted grades are a fair, consistent source of information for a candidate's potential, as they are drawn from in-class contribution, mock examination results, and tasks completed across the two year course. They themselves are used by universities to determine whether a candidate should receive an offer, thus demonstrating their widely acknowledged credibility. The fact that predicted grades (along with a school-provided testimony) are awarded to students who are considered to be unfit to sit an exam, surely justifies their utility in an adverse circumstance such as the pandemic of COVID-19, as such all we are suggesting is a mere universalisation of an already existing exam practice, in a warranted reaction to an extreme circumstance.  So, we request that the government cancels A-Level written examinations, and judges this years cohort of A-Level students on their performances throughout their courses, and award a fair, informed predicted grade, used in university admission processes.

    Petition to UnitedHealthcare

To get United Healthcare to help pay for our daughter's expensive, hard to get, special needs pre-digestive based formula that she requires to survive.

Many infants are born into this world with various health problems. In most cases the insurance agencies will cover costs for what they consider needed procedures or treatments; however that is not always the case. In my daughter Katelyn's case, she was born with digestive problems. Since birth no diagnosis was ever determined and her illness still unknown. In order for Katelyn to survive she needs this special baby formula to live; without it she will die. Due to the outrageous cost of one case, approximately $85.00, we are limited to feeding her one case per day. That costs us over $510.00 per week to feed our Katelyn. This come directly from us; our insurance company, United Healthcare will not cover any of the costs. As a working class family the added expenses are breaking us. To date we have appealed United Healthcare’s decision not to cover the costs twice and both times been denied; and they have done so with no remorse or empathy whatsoever. United Healthcare has no issue accepting the monies I contribute to my companies health insurance plan; however when you truly need help they don't want to pay. The fact is the care for my Katelyn is a must! We are not a couple of parents wanting to spend $500.00 per week on baby formula for no reason; we want our baby to live and be healthy. Katelyn is also visually impaired and hooked up to a heart monitor machine for other issues. As parents we did not elect this rough beginning to life for our daughter. It is not easy to watch our extremely small seven month old who is severely behind other infants her age struggle to eat and just live. By putting pressure on United Healthcare and other insurance companies to cover the costs will allow my daughter to receive the nutrition she needs to grow and not put such a strain on my family and me. Also, the United States Congress and Senate need to be aware of these issues as they have political power to instill change. Someone need to hold United Healthcare and the insurance companies responsible and ensure that they are covering the needs of those families they insure; especially when it comes to infants.

Cancel “Dapper Laughs: On The Pull” on ITV

"If she cries, she's just playing hard to get" "Get your arm swing just right when you're walking and you occasionally touch a bit of ***** by 'mistake', they love it." "If she's looking at me and playing with her hair, by the end of the night she'll need a wheelchair" In September 2014 ITV started airing a show by the online personality Daniel O’Reilly, better known as Dapper Laughs. O’Reilly’s work frequently depicts real-life harassment of women and in his new show he offers dating tips to members of the public inspired by his misogynistic views, all under the guise of harmless comedy. O’Reilly’s attitudes towards women, and ITV’s backing in particular, are far from harmless however: because ITV has granted O’Reilly the massive exposure and credibility of its platform, everyday sexism is being normalised for both young men and women. This has to stop. Sexual harassment and borderline threatening behaviour towards women must never be defended as either comedy or "harmless banter" nor should young men and women be encouraged to regard sexist behaviour as socially acceptable.  The TV industry is an important part of the UK’s society and economy.  It provides thousands of jobs as well as entertainment and education to millions of viewers both in the UK and abroad.   ITV is an industry leader and its own social responsibility policy recognises that with its position "comes a significant responsibility that goes beyond our regulatory requirements. When identifying material issues, considering the impact of our actions upon the people who work for us, the communities in which we operate and the environment around us makes good business and ethical sense".  It is time for ITV to follow its own responsibility policy and recognize that it has a duty not to aid the spread of sexism as seen in "Dapper Laughs: On The Pull".  This insight should lead ITV to end their affiliation with Mr O'Reilly and not commission a 2nd series. Further, all future content decisions should be reviewed on a similar basis.  #canceldapper

Investigate Gitmeid Law & National Debt Relief

This is my mother who is 71 years old who suffers from "Long QT" syndrome which can be potentially fatal and the reason she had to retire from working. My father, age 72 with over 40 years of Type 1 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and 2 separate knee replacements. These are the people who through National Debt Relief, Gitmeid Law advised them it would be in their best interest to try to pay off close to $100,000 in credit card debt. My parents have no income, no assets (cars or houses) and scrape by on social security hoping their meager savings can cover their rising medical costs. When my parents ran out of money to pay them, Gitmeid Law referred them to Liberty Lending which suspciously has the same physical address as Gitmeid Law and National Debt Relief. Referring people with awful credit to try to take out a loan? Doesn't seem right. I've recently found information from an ex-employee calling their entire setup a scam. https://web.archive.org/web/20191229185806/http://spiralnotes.com/liberty-lending-llc-review/ Over the past year I just couldn't understand why my father stopped eating and often times, just seemed like he had no desire to take care of himself. The family thought it could be "diabetic burnout" but he always said everything was fine. I'm sure he just didn't want to stress out anyone else in the family. There have been times where my parents had to choose between food and medical costs and I was still unaware fully what was going. Very scary that lack of food and/or medication in their cases can literally be life threatening. There were weeks where I would buy them groceries and I couldn't figure out why they had no money because they don't buy anything other than basic groceries, they don't take trips or even splurge on the occasional night out. I've messaged my concerns to "robert@gitmeidlaw.com" which is the email provided on their contact page but did not get a response. I've also voiced my concerns with National Debt Relief via Facebook who is now ignoring my messages. There have been numerous other testimonials on: https://www.yelp.com/biz/national-debt-relief-new-york that make one question the legitimacy of Gitmeid Law's services. They even still take payments with a company called "Global Client Solutions" which has gotten in trouble in other states for "Unfair and deceptive trade practices" and also sued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. https://alliedprogress.org/enforcement-tracker/action/cfpb-v-global-client-solutions/ Contact: gitmeidlawcomplaints@protonmail.com for requests.
