    Petition to Windstar

    Modernizing homes

I am petitioning to get support from the community to allow modernization elements to our homes in Windstar. With our recent experience, we are getting pushback on painting or replacing our garage door to the color black. We were told if we got enough signatures, and the community agreed to support the change that we would be allowed to move forward. We truly only want to better our home and upkeep value as the new neighborhood goes in next door. Please join us in moving forward with our vision which also increases home value for us and surrounding homes.

    Modernizing email development

The World Wide Web is constantly changing, especially during this pandemic emergency. Web Developers and Designers are always learning new technologies to help them write better, bigger, faster and more beautiful websites to comply with the customers' requests. HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6 opened a whole new world of possibilities to make their job easier and to give them the chance to produce more with less effort.Alas, despite being a fundamental part of nowadays everyday life, email technology seems to be stuck in 1988! Three main reasons for this (as explained in this article) are: 1. There are a lot of moving parts to considerWhen developing emails, there are a vast range of providers, devices, settings and clients to take into account. Developers must consider which email client a viewer may be leveraging (gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com), whether they're accessing email through a third-party application (Apple Mail, Thunderbird) and the type of device they're using to view the email (desktop computer, tablet, mobile device). All of these viewing iterations are made even more complex by the fact that each email provider supports different CSS options! 2. There is no magic rule or quick fixThe hardest hurdle to traverse when it comes to email development is the fact that there's no single CSS comprehension rule that can be broadly applied across all email providers. For instance, background images work on everything except certain versions of Outlook, while padding only works on certain tags. Gmail excludes any styles that are not inline, which renders conventional CSS useless. The only way to juggle the CSS nuances of each provider is to test each email template you create before sending it out to your contact base. 3. Viewers have control over display preferencesMost email providers give users the option of not automatically displaying email images. That means that, by default, any images in an email will show as an empty box with unstyled, alt-content messages inside — not very eye-catching or compelling. Unless you have a handful of friends with different mobile devices willing to give you some much-needed viewer feedback, it can be difficult to ensure that an email is appearing correctly across different mobile devices. Though media queries (code that adapts the layout of emails and web pages according to the width of the user's window or device) can help iron out formatting inconsistencies between mobile devices, they can also lead to unintended issues if a user is viewing a desktop version of an email on their mobile device. Also, email coding requires a lot of tables nested inside one another, each element with its own inline style, making what could easily be a one-liner into a 17 lines long code! As a beginner, I spent three months coding emails which, if they were normal web pages, I could have done in one or two weeks. Now I have more experience, but I still struggle and most of my colleagues around the world share the same frustration. Concerning emails, security is of course a big issue, but this shouldn't stop us having the benefits of modern HTML and CSS rules, even if in a single file, without the hassle of having to code miles of complicated lines and to test our emails on tens of different devices, clients and applications. Thank you in advance for your interest and support, however big or small it may be.

Modernizing the current courts for better justice.

The government just decided to install Justice clocks which will be costing 436 cr in india. What india needs is a better system and infrastructure in the current system of courts for modernization of the process of justice. The justice clocks which the government plans will be nothing more than a online display board for cases but what happens to the inside of the court  room infrastructure where real justice lies and is being served.

    Petition to McDonald's

Have McDonald’s to stop “modernizing” their restaurants.

Close your eyes. Think back when you were a child and you were heading home from some event. You start to feel your stomach rumble. You are hungry and then you see it the red roof with a big yellow arch. McDonalds!!!! The joy you felt seeing just a happy fun place. Now imagine your ride home from work. You’re hungry and then you see this gray building with an m. McDonald’s. There is no longer excitement it is just a boring building that reminds you of the depressing world. McDonald’s attempt to “modernize” has just done the one thing. Grown up. It just like becoming an adult, it sucks. After 2020 we do not need more depression. McDonald’s once was a place of joy. This is what the world needs joy. Make McDonald’s joyful again.

    Petition to U.S. Congress

Tell Congress It’s Time to Automatically Register Every American to Vote

This year is one of the most important elections in recent history. More than 100 million Americans will cast a ballot in November. Yet many voters continue to face obstacles to the ballot box. In 2016, 14 states have restrictive voting rules in place for the first time in a presidential election. This is part of the biggest voting rights rollback since the Jim Crow era. These measures range from harsh voter ID laws to early voting cutbacks to restrictions on registration — which disproportionately impact seniors, people of color, young people, and low-income individuals. We should protect the right to vote for all eligible Americans — and bring our voting system into the 21st century. President Obama called for reform in his State of the Union address this year, saying “we need to make voting easier, not harder, and modernize it for the way we live now.” By expanding voter access and making it more convenient, America can ensure that every eligible citizen can go to the polls this November and cast a ballot that counts. Congress has the power to make this happen now. By automatically and securely registering every eligible voter, the United States could add up to 50 million new voters nationwide, increase the accuracy of our rolls, cut costs, and curb the potential for fraud. All would be given the chance to “opt out,” or decline registration — nobody would be registered against their will. Oregon and California passed this groundbreaking policy last year. Since Oregon began implementing the new system earlier this year, registration rates are skyrocketing. Please sign our petition urging Congress to modernize voting for all Americans.

Modernizing The Distinguished Young Women Program To Elevate Today's Young Women

Distinguished Young Women, formerly known as America's Junior Miss, is a program founded in 1958 that claims it's ultimate goals are to... Reward cash scholarships for college, encourage further learning Teach valuable skills girls will need in the future Empower girls and develop inner beauty  Improve Self-Confidence, ability to speak to others as well as interviewing skills, and physical fitness As wonderful as this all sounds, starting out as every contestant does on a local level, this is not the case. Former participants from local, small town programs have reported the following. Humiliation from authoritative figures in regards to body image Cultural Insensitivity  "Slut Shaming" (Clothing appearance, length of skirts especially on taller girls) Being told to be "Cute and a little sexy", during opening dance.  Fit to form a cookie-cutter image and erase uniqueness  Inappropriate religious undertones  Regretting participating in this program during their high school career altogether!  If you would like to help stop the cruelty that is occurring in this program locally and change it to be a Caring, Modern, and Realistic way for young women to grow and prepare for the world, please sign this petition. We want to encourage the national staff to do the following.  Provide education (power points and/or a state meeting) for local program directors regarding religious tolerance, cultural tolerance, and teen mental health Rule that interviews may not be held in a religious building, but rather a secular place so that every girl is comfortable Body image insults by program directors be taken seriously and are eligible to be reported to higher authority Rulings regarding dresses on stage be revisited and corrected to the standards of modern-day professional attire  Only charismatic adults who support all kinds of young women are allowed to have mentoring roles! This isn't a beauty pageant!  Thank you to anyone and everyone who supports this cause. This program has potential to be something that many girls in many places can grow from instead of possibly be hurt by. It was created with good intentions, but it is not the 1960's anymore and a modernization is much needed.

Modernizing Medicine: Changing Merrimack Colleges General Drug Policy

Traditional medication is not the path for everyone, nor should it be the only option. There are “an estimated 3.6 million state-legal medical cannabis patients” in the 35 states it's legal in, Massachusetts is one of those states. In a Miami News-Times article, high schools in Florida have already begun to change their policy allowing students to be able to medicate on school grounds. If high schools are allowing it why can’t colleges and universities? We are in a new day and age of modern medicine, and those who need it should be able to use it. As someone who has family and friends that use Medical Marijuana, I think it's important that they and others using it are able to medicate whenever and wherever they need to. Marijuana is not the scary drug media has claimed it to be over the years, but now a medical tool used by millions and helping millions.  As the bill to legalize marijuana on the federal level moves through our government, it's about time our own schools take a look at reassessing their drug policy. Currently, at Merrimack College, the General Drug Policy states in section B “Possession and/or use of marijuana is prohibited by students on campus and in college-leased housing. This includes medicinal marijuana. The unlawful manufacture, sale, or distribution of marijuana is prohibited both on- and off-campus.” Meaning, that at this time any student who uses Medical Marijuana as a substitute for traditional medication is not able to medicate for their given need. I purpose that this section of the school's General Drug Policy be changed to allow those students to be able to medicate on campus. To start, I suggest the school starts out by only allowing non-smokeable marijuana products. This will eliminate the possibility of students smoking in dorms and on-campus property. With these small changes, it will allow those who cant medicate the ability to when and where they need to.
