WV DNR: Institute an antler restriction or limit number of buck tags

WV has all of the ingredients to produce large, heavy horned bucks. The only thing holding it back is that bucks are routinely harvested at a young age. They are not able to reach their true antler potential. See this article for more information on age and antler potential: http://www.fwrc.msstate.edu/pubs/antler.pdf. Please sign this petition to let the WV DNR know that we are willing to help them produce bigger deer from this state!

I would like to have the chance to harvest nice bucks and maybe even discourage so many out of staters coming in here and shooting whatever is brown.

So that people have more respect when it comes to deer hunting. Making them wait for the big one instead of shooting the first thing they see.

look at states like ohio. they allow one buck per year, period. look at the size of the deer that are harvested each year, huge. i would welcome that same limit in wv. we have too many hunters that just want to kill all the deer they can.
