Think twice before voting for SB179!

The last tenant/lanldord bill that passed (2012 Wis Act 143) was riddled with mistakes.  SB179 has been similarly rushed through the process without public comment and discussion; voting by paper ballot in committee without discussion on various amendments.  Will SB179 end with the same results as the last bill?  What unintended unexplored consequences await landlords and tenants in Wisconsin?  Do you know?  Think twice before voting on this measure!  Here are all the Madison laws it will eliminate.  http://tenantresourcecenter.org/pc/documents/LRB1931_Madison.pdf  And all the state laws it will change.  http://tenantresourcecenter.org/pc/documents/SB179_wAmendments.pdf

These days your average every day American is becoming less and less informed and more and more ignorant to what's at stake for the individual in this country. Capitalism is poison that teaches people to care for themselfs and no one else; to me this is a very harmful idea when the problems that face humanity loom ever closer to a head. If only those worth money have any real opinion or voice, and yet we have no choice but to pick one side or the other of whatever arguement it may be, then what are we other than pawns in "important individuals" schemes or plans? POWERFUL UNKNOWN AND VERY SECRETIVE INDIVIDUALS ARE TRYING TO CONTROL A NATION, MABYE EVEN THE WORLD AND WE LET THEM; NO ONE PERSON IS WORTH ANY MORE OR ANY LESS THAN ANOTHER, WHY WON'T ANYONE SEE THAT?

I am a renter and see no need to reduce my already limited rights.

I'm a renter and want to know what the repercussions of passing this bill will be for both tenants and landlords BEFORE it's passed and everyone is stuck with its requirements. We don't need more mistakes.

It deprives the tenant of the transparency

it deprives the tenant of the right to know the circumstances of the property they are renting. It gives unjust power to landlords and allowsthemto be dishonest orto withhold necessary information from the tenant.
