WINSTON-SALEM: BAN SINGLE-USE PLASTIC BAGS (please only sign if you live in Forsyth County, NC)

Approximately 100 billion single-use plastic bags are used every year in the U.S. alone. 88% of those don’t get recycled, and many never make it to landfills. In fact, 80% of the debris in our rivers and oceans comes from land. But this is one pollution problem we can start correcting quickly. In the last several years, bans on single-use plastic bags have been passed in towns all across the country: from Seattle to Austin, from L.A. to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

WE APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT OF FRIENDS EVERYWHERE, BUT PLEASE SIGN ONLY IF YOU'RE A WINSTON-SALEM AREA RESIDENT. THANKS!

Our mission is to pass a ban on single-use plastic bags within the city of Winston-Salem and:

1. Help prevent plastic pollution.
2. Protect wildlife.
3. Reduce consumption of non-renewable fossil fuels.
4. Promote reusable bags.
5. Save local businesses and consumers money.

Please sign this petition and help us get the conversation started with City Council. Thanks for your help!
