WI Nat. Resources Board & WI DNR: Repeal Act 168 opening WI State Parks to hunting & trapping

Wisconsin state parks are used year-round. Allowing traps and guns in the same places that adults and children hike, bike, picinic, walk dogs, birdwatch, snowshoe, ski, sled, etc. is a recipe for disaster. Bullets stray & pollute, traps maim and torture indiscriminately. Tell the Board and the DNR to restore the long-standing Wisconsin state law banning this threat to public safety. This petition must be submitted to the Board by Friday, December 7 at 3 p.m. Please sign!

Trapping should be banned. Organize at www.wiwildlifeethic.org to claim a first time democracy for wildlife lovers and non-hunters.

My family and I love hiking on weekends in WI state parks and this new law definitely makes it less safe for families to do that. State Parks should not be grounds for hunting.

My husband and I hike, bike, and cross country ski in the parks and will be concerned if hunting is allowed in the park.

I want to be able to walk and hike in the Wisconsin State Parks without fear for myself or my pets.

Why not use managed forest land ???

"State officials to push DNR on access to public land"

1.1 million acres in managed forest program - $29 million annual bill... DNR doesn't provide any statewide maps showing the location of managed forest properties in the program.

Maps indicate that in many parks users must pass through or near the 'kill zone'.

Wisconsin is lucky to have a collection of beautiful state parks, and I purchase annual park passes to enjoy them. However, hiking in a place that contains hunters with guns scares me, and I don't plan to purchase another annual or daily pass to a Wisconsin State Park.
