Input from Roger Cook MLA, member for Kwinana.
KRAG has recieved correspondence from Roger Cook MLA, member for Kwinana
We thank Roger for his input and comments and indeed supportive position
I am totally opposed to Live Animal exports moving to Kwinana. It’s not acceptable that just because people don’t want it elsewhere that we should have it on our doorstep
The comments by Wendy Duncan expose the real reason why supporters of live animal exports want it to be shifted to Kwinana, they don’t want to offend people in Fremantle and want to hide it in Kwinana
Paul Papalia is the WA Labor shadow minister for Agriculture and Food and has committed WA Labor’s support for the transition of live animal exports to onshore processing. We do not advocate immediate cessation of exports as this would have both a negative impact on farmers and serious negative animal welfare implications. Lisa Baker MLA has written a comprehensive Animal Welfare discussion paper which can be accessed at Mark McGowan’s (the Leader of the Opposition) website.
