In countries across Asia, thousands of bears live a life of torture on bear farms, so that their bile can be extracted and used in traditional medicine to cure ailments ranging from headaches to haemorrhoids. Bears are confined in cages which vary from agonisingly tiny "crush" cages to larger pens, all of which cause terrible physical and mental suffering.
My aim is to STOP this unnecessary barbaric practice in whatever way I can.
Animals Asia is hosting a Wimbledon Walk campaign : Simple Steps That Help Paws and Claws. 11th September 2010
Please sponsor my walk as it can and will help end the deplorable suffering of Farmed Moon Bears. Helping to raise Animals Asia vital work of stamping out bear bile farming and the consumption of dogs and cats.
Contact your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor me on this wonderful Walk of Freedom. Every donation you give and every pound I raise helps ensure a secure and happy future for suffering moon bears at Animals Asia's safe haven in China and Vietnam as well as changing the hearts and minds towards cats and dogs in Asia, who are totured and brutally slaughtered for the food and fur industries. A passionate advocate for animals, Jackie Chan has filmed a powerful 30-second PSA calling for an end to the cruel practice and showing the intense suffering and deplorable conditions bears on farms are forced to endure.
