The current global economic crisis is magnifying the importance and necessity of Financial Literacy. One of the factors contributing to the downfall of the economy was unfortunately consumer lack of financial education. We live in a capitalist society, yet there is no REQUIREMENT to learn or understand the rules of the financial game that we play for our entire lives. The schools expect the parents to teach the children, but who taught the parents.

Financial Ignorance is NOT Bliss! Financial Ignorance is EXPENSIVE!!!

If we are required to take a foreign language, gym, science, math, social studies, etc., subjects that we may or may not use after we finish school; then Money & Credit Management should and must be seen as a required standard during the primary educational timespan of Elementary through High School.

So, let's level the playing field and give everyone the same opportunity to understand the rules of the Financial & Credit Game early so our future adults will be able to make more informed financial decisions. Financial Education is what will assist in rebuilding global economy.
