Urge Governor Tomblin to sign anti-human trafficking legislation
The Issue
West Virginia is currently one of two states that has no law against human trafficking. You can help change this! A new bill (HB 4053) has just passed out of the state legislature that would criminalize human trafficking and ensure that police and prosecutors have the resources they need to end this terrible crime. We need your help to ensure that Governor Tomblin signs this bill (HB 4503) into law.
If we want to fight human trafficking in West Virginia, this bill must become law. HB 4053 establishes the crime of human trafficking in West Virginia and increases protections for minor victims of sex trafficking. HB 4053 also authorizes training for law enforcement officials on how to identify and effectively investigate the crime of human trafficking.
