Homeowners in Union county are currently being overcharged on their property taxes by as much as 82%. What is happening in Union county is extremely unethical. If Union county needs additional tax revenue the goal should be achieved with honesty. Such as openly raising sales tax, changing the actual property tax rate, ect. Not with over inflating home values on unsuspecting homeowners.

My mortgage has gone up close to 400 dollars a month! The property tax is nearly double the appraisal.

I believe our property value assessment by Union County based on 2008 home values is not correct, they need to be based on the current market and also the assessment review period adjusted to make corrections to overvalued homes now, not in a year or two.

We could not sell our home for anywhere near it's 'assessed' price; ridiculous that we are taxed on that price.
