Moviemat has been a local operating business for the past 21 years in Renfrew, just recently Moviemat moved to it's new location which has been owned by the company for the past 10 years, previously the location was a Retail Appliance Repair shop.
9 years ago Moviemat had the property rezoned to Commercial C2 so that it would allow more types of Retail to operate on the property.
Now that Moviemat has moved into the existing building the Town's staff is trying every legal loop hole even though the law is quite clear that Moviemat has done nothing wrong to close us down via bulling.
In the past 3 months the Town of Renfrew's staff has changed its tactics numerous times to stop Moviemat from using it's property or make it financially impossible for a small local business owner.
Now the latest on Nov. 6, 2012 the Town of Renfrew has given Moviemat 72 hours to comply with laws that "Do Not Apply" to the situation.
There are many Town Staff in charge that don't agree with what is happening but senior management are overriding department heads in what they "Feel" is right.
The town's Director of Development & Works refuses to read the law for what it is, which the towns own Planner and Moviemat's lawyer both agree the Director is wrong.
