The current board of the SPCA of Cattaraugus County NY A.K.A Enchanted Mountain SPCA, has allowed the continued neglect of the animals left in their care, a director convicted of DWAI while driving SPCA Van, the Dog Control Officer faces multiple FELONY counts of Forgery for signing a Vets name on state documents, denying state inspectors access to the shelter, staff finding animals dead in their kennels due to lack of vet care, fundraisers held and the animals receive nothing from the contributions, a donation of close to a quarter million dollars has vanished but the animals languish in cinder block kennels with no enrichment, rehabbing, medical care, sometimes no food........these people must be removed!

    1. Bad Publicity causes name change

With recent events surrounding the Cattaraugus County SPCA putting them in a bad light, the Board of Directors is trying to deflect negative press by changing the name of the shelter to "ENCHANTED MOUNTAIN ADOPTION CENTER"...it wont work! We must spread the word that the name change wont protect the board of directors from being held responsible for their horrific actions!

This is just one issue, Reilly brought in at 5:30 pm and never taken to the vet until 3 pm the next afternoon. The list is long. Hank, foot gashed open, 3 days before he sees a vet and receives more than 20 stitches. Alladin, tail bitten off by another dog, 4 days before he goes to the vet and has a proper amputation of his tail done. This is so cruel, unacceptable and all unnecessary.
We will continue to put many positive programs in place, such as our new pet food bank, to help keep animals in their loving homes because so many things can be done to improve the financial situation at the SPCA so that medical care can be provided immediately when needed.
We have been focusing on many positives lately because it is sad to have to view these horrors but it is important for all our new followers to understand why we are doing what we are doing.
Nothing further even needs to be said.......

What is the matter with the board of directors and the people who maintain the Enchanted Mountain SPCA? Where is their humanity? How can they let innocent cats and dogs suffer? If there are rescue groups or people nearby, please go and save the animals that are housed there. Shame on all of you that run this shelter!!

They give us all a bad name and no animal should ever suffer in a facility designed to eleviate animal suffering!
