Add Political Robocalls to the United States National Do Not Call Registry

    1. Petition by

      Bruce Glassman

      Jacksonville, FL

In today's political environment of obscene amounts of money being spent on political campaigns at the Federal, State and Local levels. Obscene amounts of money result in an obscene amount of robocalls. My home is my castle and when the telephone rings with a robocall it is an uninvited intrusion on my privacy. Politicians, their surrogates, their campaigns, related and unrelated Political Action Committees, etc. should be all subject to the same rules as any commercial business. All are trying to sell a product and I absolutely resent/despise/hate sales calls. Send me a letter, advertise on television, radio, satellite, the internet, etc. but DO NOT CALL MY TELEPHONE!

We have rights to QUIETLY enjoy the sanctuaries we call our homes, and this is SUCH an invasion of that privacy. Enough is enough. The calls during this last campaign season were relentless, annoying and in the long run, do they even serve a purpose? I know of NO ONE who is influenced by what is said on these recordings (or by the live individuals reading from scripts), but I'd be more apt to vote for a candidate, regardless of party affiliation, who pledged and practiced NOT making these calls.

My phone is *my* phone, not a politician's.
