A gated community is not necessary nor is it feasible for this area of town. We need something built on this property that will benefit the town residents not just a couple of wallets. Increase in housing will result in an increase in student population, worst case each unit has 1 child, 192 more children! We cant afford this and neither can the tax payers. As for the units that won't be occupied, the contractor will pay a fee in lieu of taxes, what exactly is that fee? An increase in retail and housing to this area of town will just compound the already existing issue of traffic which likely deters people from visiting the existing business establishments.
