From petition creator Tee Westbrooks: "The D'Iberville city manager called (6-19-12) and we discussed the passing of my son- DeAndre' and Johnny Le, which he was already aware. He stated that he didn't think it would be a problem to meet my request to install 100 signs throughout the property. He was to discuss it with the property owner and call me back. On 6-21-12, I recieved a call from the Director of D'Iberville City Works, in which he informed me that my request has officially been approved and he is responsible for installing the signs. He asked what would I like the signs to say. Of course, "No Tresspassing/Private Property" and maybe "River Contains Currents". This means I won, We won!!!! The signs are now in production, but the process may take a while. Research has to be done to know how large the property is, to know exactly where each sign will be placed. WE WON, WE WON. I THANK YOU ALL!!!!!"

This body of water is said to contain currents and under tows which have claimed the lives, as of late, of DeAndre' Westbrooks (20) and Johnny Le (18). Both drowing accidents accured within weeks of each other, at the same location area within Riverside Cliffs. Located in D'Iberville -Harrison county

Today, May 31, 2012; marks 2 months that my son, DeAndre' Roshel Westbrooks, was killed due to the currents in this very river that I am trying my best to petition for a change. If you think this is easy for me in any kind of way, you are very mistaken. This is terribly difficult for me, on every level, every single day. I can only imagine how the families and friends of the other 2 young men feel. I strive with every fiber of my being to contribute to making a change with this terrible, horrible, and deadly situation. I beg of you to help support to a change by adding your signature!!!!! Please!!! IT IS OF THE UTMOST EXTREME IMPORTANCE TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF THE DANGER THAT LIES BENEATH THE SURFACE OF THIS BODY OF WATER!!! PLEASE SUPPORT!!!!!

    4. Please read to understand the nature of this petition. Help save lives.

Thus far, 3 young men have lost their lives, swimming in this body of water. (2 this year, within weeks of eachother. My son included and 1 in 2009) The public should be made aware that Riverside Cliff (Tchoutacabouffa River) contains strong currents and under tows that will, can, and has caused fatalities. There should be Warning, No Tresspassing, and Private Property signs evenly distributed throughout this vast "PRIVATE STRETCH OF PROPERTY". There should be strict consequences for the swimmers in an attempt to prevent any more unfortunate drownings. You can help support by adding your name to the petition. For all of you that have signed, I sincerely thank you!!!!

I can't bare to see anymore statuses about another life taken due to the dangerous place called the Cliffs. Yes, I've had grandparents, aunts, uncles and pets die..but not such a true friend like him. His passing broke me down to tears. When I heard of it, I just wanted the grace of God to save his life, but as we all know, He has a bigger plan for us. I might not know what it is now, but I know I'll be able to see, laugh with, touch, hear his voice, and see that bight, cheerful smile he always had. I LOVE YOU DE'ANDRE R. WESTBROOKS aka SUPERMAN aka the "BE3T" Brooks. <3

Both of the boys that drowned graduated from the same high school that my children attend. We knew Johnny and still can't believe that he is gone. Two very tragic losses. No one else should lose a family member in this way.
