Epiphany of our Lord school maintains a FULL ACADEMIC program, including art, gym, computers, and music. We also have an enrollment of 293 students, which is up from 198 just a couple years back, we are growing! The Blue Ribbon Commission has made a mistake with the recommendation to close this school and merge with 4 others. It is now our job as a community to try to make them understand why we should remain one.

This is just one of many heartfelt stories that are apart of this wonderful parish. My two children go to Epiphany, my son Christopher is in first grade and is a special needs child. Although, high functioning he does have an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. I very rarely share this story because it is very personal, but it's time, especially with the news of this wonderful school closing.

Back in 2008 when we learned of Chris' disability he was in a different Catholic school. There were many problems here, problems that were not handled well by anyone. No matter what my efforts were to make it work, it didn't. There I was in the middle of a school year, just having a new baby and pulling my son out of school. I put a call into Miss Patty Cody, because it was time for Chris to go back where he belonged, Chris did do a PK 3 program at Epiphany the year prior. At the end of our very first telephone call, she said to me, "welcome home, we missed you". Need I say more, of course! After countless meetings on what would work best for Chris and organizing a TEAM/FAMILY that would work on his struggles together, I knew for the rest of my life I would be eternally grateful to a women who mended my broken heart and restored my faith in the abilities of the Catholic church. Countless days of outside supports and changes and meetings and phone calls, etc. It's grueling for all involved. The principal, teachers and staff in this school have always done their best to make it work, no matter what. He gets so much more here than any IEP through the Philadelphia school district could give him. These individuals give him unconditional love and support and as a parent I could never, ever ask for anything more! Father John Pidgeon's words to my husband and I when he came to my home, because of course we became parishioners in this wonderful parish, "we are so very glad to have you". These people gave me back what I lost, so now I look forward to trying to help them get back what we all lost together. Miss Cody, I will personally follow you to the ends of this earth!

I went to the school and I have family who attend and this community needs this school to keep the bond and keep their children close at home and with the lord.

Beside Ms. Cody, Fr. Pidgeon, all the staff at

Epiphany, we have leadership in Rob Rowella who is preparing a plan to secure the future stability and sustainability of our school through alumni development and fundraising. With his knowledge and backing of our community, I believe Epiphany of Our Lord School should remain open and will survive.

Epiphany is an exceptional school and should be aloud to thrive in its original home. There is strong support from the community and alumni to help this school survive. It is important for our children to stay in a caring educational facility as Epiphany.
