Citizens in Hawaii who participate in the humane strategy program to help feral cats need your help. The program TNRM- Trap Neuter Return and Manage is sponsored by the Hawaiian Humane Society but the effectiveness of its mission lies largely upon citizen honesty not to abuse such resources and the expectation that one will follow the program.
The property management company and its site manager are trapping; poisoning; and shooting sterilized/chipped cats where program trappers are suppose to release those such cats that have a visible marking that designates them to be sterilized/chipped. Another disturbing issue is that the site manager has been discovered to also trap cats and not turn them into the humane society and then they become mysteriously "missing," and not accounted for at all.
First off, the fixed feral cats in this community are not abundant in numbers; not wildly aggressive nor are they a nuisance.
These cats deserve to live out their life as mother nature intended- not to be killed by man. It is sad enough that they must be subjected to chipping procedures and then clipping skin off their ears just so that they can roam and be cats. Spay/Neutering does assist in prevention of other health conditions.
Please sign this petition. It will help save lives of sterilized cats and promote awareness to people to stop treating them as abuse targets.
If you know any direct information to the abuse of these sea country feral cats do not engage in such activity and do not hesitate to contact police immediately.
