Tell Obama to Respect Medical Marijuana Patients' Rights

    1. Petition by

      Steph Sherer

After giving the medical cannabis community a false sense of security, Obama’s administration continues to ignore state laws, intimidate state officials, and raid medical cannabis patients and facilities. The medical cannabis community has done its part to educate legislatures and voters across the country about the therapeutic and palliative benefits cannabis provides. As a result, sixteen states and the District of Columbia have shown compassion by recognizing the legitimate need for cannabis as medicine in their respective communities.  It is time for Obama to do the same. Sign the petition asking for President Obama to legitimize our community!

As a cancer patient and having seen relatives with my very same type of cancer suffer, I urge the continued research in the medical values of cannabis.

As a chronic pain sufferer, please have compassion for me and others for whom many prescription drugs do not work for. The therapeutic benefits far outweigh the negative, as proven in the very limited studies that are allowed. Sixteen states and D.C. have recognized the benefits, please have compassion for those who need the benefits of cannabis and legalize AND decriminalize.

The right thing to do would be to RESCHEDULE cannabis so that states could choose for themselves without having to FEAR the Federal Government. As it is right now 16 states and it's people believe that cannabis is a legitimate medicine and more are on the way. The people are on the side of right in this fight. The federal Government is wrong by holding cannabis captive as a schedule one drug only so BIG Pharmacy has access to it. Shame on you!!!

The function of war professes to be to end suffering, yet vital research into disease has been ignored for literally generations; as science reveals the irrelevance of fear in an empathic world, it is incumbent upon its leaders to embrace those causes that are for the good of all. Be the change, sir.
