Tell Logan City Council to Stop Sending Homeless Pets to the University of Queensland

    1. Petition by

      Minneapolis, MN

The Logan City Council has an agreement with the University of Queensland Veterinarian School allowing the school to acquire homeless pets from the shelter for live-animal teaching purposes.

Animals suffer from vivisection, botched surgeries, drug overdoses and are eventually euthanized.

While the shelter claims no "adoptable" animals are transfered to the University, insider information states otherwise. It is believed that some animals don't even get the chance at being adopted before they're sent to the school.

With many effective alternatives available, such as the use of cadavers and surgery simulators, the use of live animals for educational purposes is obsolete.

Sign the petition below to tell Logan City Council to end their agreement and stop sending homeless pets to the University.

OMG!!!As a tasmanian im HORRIFIED that Queensland students are invoved in such barbaric and sickening acts.To think Logan city coucil approves of such animal abuse is downright DISGUSTING.This needs to stop now! Move into the 21st century, this makes me sick to my stomach, how do the people involved sleep at night, obviously not snuggled up to a dog or cat.

Lots of natural disasters happening in the world. Karma is rearing its head and paying us humans back for cruel atrocities bestowed upon animals. I welcome this. This is horrible what you do. I hope you tell people dumping their unwanted pets they will go to a chamber of horrors. Animals have pure hearts and souls. People have greedy, uncaring bloodthirsty hearts. Please stop and find your hearts. Your life will change for the better being a saver not a killer.

I live not far from Logan. To know that Logan City Council is engaging in the trade of providing animals for experimentation is staggering.

I am used to reading of this in under developed countries.

If Logan cannot of itself respect decency in respect to animals, then please exercise the powers given to you by the Australian Electorate to outlaw such use of animals. Logan City has the responsibility to care for animals who are the victims of it's own inefficiency in maintaining pet ownership and welfare laws.
