Tell Congress: Stand Up to Discrimination; Pass ENDA Now!

    1. Sponsored by

      People For the American Way

It’s way past time for Congress to enact basic workplace protections that shield LGBT Americans from employment discrimination.

It’s illegal to fire someone because of race, religion, national origin, disability, age or gender, but employment discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity is not currently prohibited by federal law. 29 states have no laws prohibiting employment discrimination based on sexual orientation, and 34 states have none that do so based on gender identity.

Tell Congress to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)-- a commonsense measure that would protect LGBT Americans against the very real discrimination many of them face in the workplace.

The reason why this is very important to me is because, Me as myself is gay. And I have tried getting a job ever since i was old enough to get one. And no place would hire me because of my sexual Orintation. So i am Currently going to school to start working on my career that i have been wanting my whole life. Ever since i came out of the closet as being gay, I was scared shitless of what people would think of me, of what they would do to me. I have been called names my whole life and been bullied my whole life because of me being who i am. How are we supposed to be who we are if people keep on pushing us back down. Everyone talks about equal rights and that anything is possible for anyone if you put your mind to it. But it does not seem like you guys are resepecting our rights as people! It seems like to me that you guys protect everyone els except for us, The Gay Community; Worldwide! We are exactly the same as everyone els. We can do anything that everyone els can do. Hell, If Some of us are really into politics and wants to make a change in the world, i'm sure that they would run for president of the United States Of America! We should be able to get the same opportunities as everyone els. Be able to be who we and be who we want to be and to be with the person that we love just as much as everyone els. My dream is to become a Veterinarian and own my own clinics. But right now it looks like it will be impossible because of myself being gay. That is not right! So that is why passing the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" Also known as The ENDA ACT!

As a college student entering the workforce, I don't want to be fired simply for refusing to pretend I'm something I'm not. Pass ENDA now.
