BAN NATIONAL MEDIA FROM OFFERING CAPTIVE CETACEAN EXPERIENCES AS PRIZES

    1. Petition by

      DOLPHIN DAYS IRELAND

hundreds of people every year pay to see dolphin/whale shows or to have swims with captive dolphins/whales. You swim with them for one day but they are trapped for life in small tanks, in chemically treated water, with loud music and trainers with whistles causing them terrible suffering day in and out. Dolphins/ whales & sharks should be wild and free! People need to stop going to these parks and the media need to stop promoting these parks. WILD AND FREE IS THE WAY FOR ME!

Making money on the pain and suffering of any creatures is an abomination.

The cetaceans are captured in the most cruel fashion, usually after experiencing grueling hours in a hunt drive, after watching members of their families slaughtered for meat, they are then flown for sometimes days in a container, those that make it are then forced to live in concrete tanks, fed dead fish and subjected to live out the rest of their lives, on average 5 years, whereas in the wild their average is 50, performing tricks to 'entertain' onlookers who should no better! Dolphins are not in the likes of Sea World in order perverse the species. It's money...pure and simple.

There is no need for the slaughter of Dolphins of which some will be sold on to a life in captivity. People who buy tickets for Seaworld and other Dolpinariums are helping to keep this barbaric Slaughter going. If you have a heart and feel the same way, then do not allow Prizes to see these wonderful creatures in such an unnatural and inhumane way.
