Summary (Full letter in box below)

Music gives many people enjoyment, but the dynamically compressed albums available today are short changing people of this enjoyment.

As music lovers we are fed up with the high level of dynamic compression used on albums available today and would like to see the immediate introduction of “HD / Unlimited” music, where the recording has not been dynamically compressed and has been optimised for sound quality.

We believe that this is the way forward to reintroduce people to music the way it’s meant to sound. The technology is there, I’m sure the demand is there, Record Labels make it happen!

SO MUCH TO SAY… BASICALLY: ON THIS WAR EVERYBODY WILL LOOSE. THE ARTIST, THE “CONSUMER”… AND THE “INDUSTRY”. THE INDUSTRY WILL ALSO LOOSE BECAUSE EXCELLENCY ON PRODUCTION AND MEDIA IS WHAT MAKES PEOPLE PREFER ORIGINAL RECORDS/LEGAL MUSIC FILES. BAD ORIGINAL RECORDINGS ARE NO COMPETITION FOR PIRATED/ILLEGAL COPIES OR FILES.

"COMPRESSION" SHOULD BE AN "ON/OFF" BUTTON ON PLAYERS, NOT A MANDATORY FEATURE ON RECORDINGS. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO RUIN THE RECORDING FOR EVERYBODY WHEN IT CAN BE DONE OPTIONALLY BY EACH MUSIC FAN, ACCORDING TO HIS OWN TASTE.

Because i am tired of listening to crappy recordings on an expensive audio system. I have stopped buying music because of this.

All my older CDs sound awesome, but I don't even listen to new purchases more than once through. I now look for older mixes of albums when I buy CDs. It's just silly to keep compressing everything like this.
