Stop the animal abuse, overpopulation, and abandonment in Puerto Rico

    1. Petition by

      All Sato Rescue

Ray and Ranen were just days old when they were found on Dead Dog Beach, a notorious dumping ground for dogs on the East Coast of Puerto Rico. Dead Dog Beach was the subject of a story in People magazine.

The pups were tiny, hungry, and scared. But dedicated rescuers bottlefed them during the first critical weeks. It's hard to imagine an animal this young and defenseless left to take care of itself. Stories like this are too common.

A safe home, lots of food, and love around-the-clock can work miracles. At All Sato Rescue we dedicate our efforts to improving the lives, and reducing the numbers, of abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico. The two were flown to Boston and picked up by our friends from Cape Ann Animal Aid. They were adopted very quickly and are now in their forever homes where memories of their early days on the beach are receding fast. Every week, we fly Satos to our shelter partners in the Northeast. During the month of March American Airlines is offering a 20% to those who share miles, find out how you can help Satos by donating your frequent flier miles. And if you are planning a trip to Puerto Rico, please consider becoming a puppy escort.

Please make your voice heard to Governor Luis Fortuño to let him know that animal abuse, overpopulation, and abandonment are not acceptable. Ask him to take an active role in finding a humane solution to these terrible problems. Keep in mind that Puerto Rico is part of the United States. The Satos need our help, please sign and share this petition.

Dogs deserve to be treated with love and respect. They have dignity, and it is our responsiblity as human beings to preserve that dignity and protect these dogs.

Absolutely terrible how animals are treated in Puerto Rico, I can not believe that a civilized society would care so little for the innocent animals, Please find more humane ways, I will not be visiting Puerto Rico until things change.

Disgusting, barbaric & cruel. All people involved in this should have no mercy shown them to see how they like being tortured. There is no greatness in this nation only evil. I will never travel there.
